Perfect stay in a beautiful cottage

Lovely cottage with everything we needed including an amazing log burner! Great location with shops pubs and restaurants all within a very short walk down the road. Everywhere else we wanted to visit was only a 20min car ride, so perfect location for everything in the Peaks!

Fab-U-Lous!

Warm and cosy cottage, gorgeous log fire (take your own logs). Comfy beds, tasteful decor. Good communication with Lucy the host. Just the right size for two of us spending three nights in Tideswell attending a folk dance and music weekend. The cottage was warm even when returning late at night (don’t you just hate it when the heating switches off too early). So no worries on that score. Plenty of kitchen utensils and facilities. Bathroom and shower lovely and clean. View from the front across the houses and fields. Short walk to Horse and Jockey for a drink by the cosy fire. There is now a great cafe in the village doing breakfasts, brunch, cakes etc.

Convenient for the village facilities and exploring the Peak District. The comfortable and thoughtful way the owners had equipped the Cottage.

A little disappointed there wasn't even a small garden, however, it didn't really detract from this lovely cottage.

Exceptional stay at May Cottage!

The cottage was well equipped with everything you could need for a getaway. It was incredibly clean and very comfortable. We were able to park right outside the property each day, which was an added bonus. The area is quiet, not a lot of passing traffic. We enjoyed listening to the church bells each morning. The area is incredibly scenic, and local amenities are only a short walk away. Our personal favorite was the Star Inn, ate there two nights in a row - food was exceptional. We couldn't have asked for a better stay in a nicer location. We will definitely be looking to return in the near future.

There wasn't anything we didn't like - everything was perfect.

A lovely cottage in a great village location in the Peaks.

Lovely comfortable cottage in Tideswell. Tideswell has good walking from the door and isn’t far from Kinder Scout for a more challenging walk. We visited Chatsworth and Bakewell. The village has good amenities including a Co-op, Fish and Chips, Cafe and Pubs.

Parking is on the street No garden But we knew this before we booked so no complaints

position, equipment, good supply of hand wash toilet rolls, teatowels etc.. bathroom and toilet well equipped and spotless decoration appeared to be in excellent order close to centre and facilities for dog walking easily accessed

kitchen smelled of urine and sticky to walk on-washed it as soon as we arrived, state of oven, dust on toaster, crumbs behind bread board, crumbs and dust on settee between cushions.

Beautiful week away in Tideswell

Beautiful location and very peaceful. Very cosy and warm, as it was January. Good spacious cottage. Lots of walking available as you step out of the door and easy to park at the front of the house. Great to have a washer n dryer available too. Really enjoyed my stay. Dog friendly.

There was no garden, so even though the cottage allowed dogs , they couldn't just pop out for a wee, I had to walk up the road to find a grassed area. ( probably goid in the long run as got me walking lol) Also the gas engineer arrived at 8.33 ish on the morning I was leaving, to service the boiler, which was very inconvenient and made me feel I gad to rush to vacate the property, not good giving just got out of the shower.

Lovely, well equipped cottage. Great base for the Peaks.

Very convenient for everything we wanted to do in the Peak District. The village was also great for good pubs, take aways and convenience store. You could park right outside the cottage. Comfy bed. Well stocked kitchen with utensils, pots and pans etc. It was excellent having a utility room.

Nothing really. The church bells ringing every quarter of an hour took some getting used to but was dulled by shutting the window. We found the sofa a bit uncomfortable but that is just us! We would have liked some milk in the fridge as there was tea and coffee at the cottage but no milk when we arrived.

Ivy cottage was a comfortable place to stay, it had everything we needed in a great location.

The location was very good being located in a delightful little town with many amenities. There are many places to visit and activities to enjoy.

Needs a good clean

We love the location and will return, but not unfortunately to this cottage.

The whole house needs a good clean - it was very dusty, baked on food on the hob and oven, previous guests leftovers in the fridge, mould around the bath, used tissues under the bed, creased bedsheets, dirty sponge left in shower, personal items from previous guests left in living room - it was as though it hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests. The house is lacking in finishing touches e.g. landing light is a bare bulb, freezer door broken and difficult to open, no welcome amenities e.g. milk. Instructions for the oven would be helpful.

I loved everything about the place, beautiful cottage in a beautiful clean and colourful village. The house well the pictures didnt do it justice it's much nicer than the pics suggest.the view from the kitchen window was great. The location was great . Good wifi connexion. Friendly neighbours

As expected the signal was iffy. But not as bad upstairs . I was unable to lock the door from the outside .

Clean,comfy, home from home.

Everything that was needed for the week was supplied. There was plenty of parking, we loved watching the cows from the kitchen window [ so close ]. The house was nice and cosy in the evenings , with plenty of hot water.

We missed having a garden , but i suppose whenthe house was built this wasnt a problem. Apart from that no other dislikes.

location is good, plenty walks from front door. good hot shower. comfy bed.

this property needs a clean and a refresh. several things broken/ not working including lights in the living room, cutlery drawer and fridge door in kitchen. shelf of the pots and pans cupboard needing cleaned as did some of the oven crockery. hole in bathroom wall. blind broken in main bedroom dust on most window sills, several cobwebs in bedroom and bathroom.
