OwlStay Flip Flop Hostel - Garden

Very practical location close to the main station and the shopping streets of Taipeh centre. Excellent value for the money.

The WIFI was unstable and not very good. The room could have been cleaner - there was hair on the ground in our room. The hotel accepts credit card payments, but the café on the ground floor where breakfast is served does not - we didn't intend to withdraw local currency and were forced to.

My stay was perfect, especially for my first time visiting Taiwan. The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving me lots of tips and also just curious about where I'm from :) The double room I stayed in was perfect, really light and airy, and the design of the whole place was very stylish. I really appreciated visiting the attached bookshop and the coffee shop downstairs. Great breakfast and really good coffee (especially the salted cream one). Everything was very clean and the other travellers were very respectful, I never had any problems in the dorm room I stayed in on the second half of my trip. Also, the location is really convenient for travelling around Taipei and the surrounding area as it's between some useful metro stations and the main train station. The area around also has a ton of cool shops and restaurants, plus the contemporary art museum is jsut across the road, I spent an interesting morning there :)

Excellent location featuring nicely revamped buildings & outstanding service. The team was incredibly helpful & dedicated to their work!

if I had to nitpick, room cleanliness could be improved, as I noticed dirt buildup along the baseboards & in the corners.

Location was central. That was it. I’m glad we were there just 1.5 days, been to much better hostels and B&Bs.

Roof must have been leaking as we found the ceiling plastered with plastic sheets. Probably what contributed to an odd funky stench in the room. The floor and walls looked really grimy & dirty, not sure if it is part of a minimalist-survivalist-so called artistic design? Other hostels provided towels, TV, conditioner and cups. This had none and we had to “borrow” towels from hostels at no charge, which seem bit odd to me. The common space did not provide much
