Escape to this classic hill country cabin commanding amazing views and sunsets from a cliff overlooking the Guadalupe River. Enjoy the drive to and from the house through a large ranch hosting exotic and native wildlife. Take in distant views from the deck, relax in the plunge pool ( heated September- May) settle in for an unforgettable stay at this romantic getaway.
"The Bunkhouse", as called by the family for generations, was recently updated to share with guests the unique experience of being nestled away on this special spot of the Ranch in the Texas hills. Where only 30 minutes away from the bustling city of San Antonio you can escape to the Bunkhouse surrounded by the peaceful sound of the Guadalupe River rapids flowing through the valley beneath your feet.
Inside: features are well appointed with a full kitchen, dining nook, living area with full sized futon (linens provided upon request), 2 comfortable queen bedrooms, full bath with rain shower over river rock floor, and soaker tub.
Outside: walk through windowed doors where the back deck hosts a plunge pool with 8 jets and infiniti edge where water appears to fall into the Guadalupe River below. The deck also features a propane bbq grill and picnic table. There are as many amazing views from the deck as there are square feet; the best spot on the Ranch to enjoy a glass of wine, especially at sunset. Outside you will also find a fenced in yard with gated entry and stone fire pit.
In the area: The Roundup Beer Garden and Food Park ( - a premier Texas hill country venue offering live music, food trucks, ice cold refreshments, a playground for the kids, and a dog park for our furry friends. The Guadalupe River - utilize Bergheim Campground and River Outfitters ( for kayak, canoe, and tubing trips for one of the best Guadalupe River experiences available. We rented The Bunkhouse for one night to celebrate my 60th birthday. From checkin to checkout and everything in between, it was an amazing stay. The weather was perfect. We spent most of our time in the infinity pool overlooking the river. Property was clean, private and everything you could want for a relaxing getaway.

The house is very cute and had everything we needed but we were very disappointed that the pool on the deck never got above lukewarm. We absolutely felt we were paying extra for the hot tub, and as it was a cold night we couldn't use it at all. Very disappointing.
