Hotel Mara

The nature, the pool, the place... the man who was on duty at the pool on Sunday... was very nice and respectful, he was kind and extremely prompt in meeting the needs of all customers, without exception and without preferences.

The man who was on duty on Saturday, a person with a completely disrespectful and unprofessional attitude. He treated customers preferentially... for some he would move to the sunbed and for others he would ease them by making rejection gestures and asking not to be disturbed! Everything culminated in the fact that, towards the afternoon, he said he would no longer make lattes because he had no more milk... In such a hotel, on a weekend day, full at the pool... how can you run out of milk for lattes??? I didn't like the fact that the rules at the pool are not respected! There are some very nice rules for the pool... for example "don't jump" "don't disturb others" "don't let people in from outside if the pool is full" etc... But none of these were respected! For example the last one... although the lady who requested access was informed that there were no more sunbeds available (so the pool was full) she decided to enter and the lady at the reception collected her money and allowed her to enter... It's an 8-story hotel! The pool, the parking lot, etc... are anyway small for the entire accommodation capacity of the hotel. The sunbeds are old and broken... you have to hunt for them to catch them! Very unpleasent! The gentleman who supervises everything tries to please everyone but... sometimes you just need to ask for the rules to be respected and if not, some measures to be taken! It's that simple! The room was ok, clean and comfortable but the bathtub drain was clogged and it was quite unpleasant to shower because the water didn't really drain out of the bathtub when you were showering.

We loved the position of the hotel, surrounded by green mountains, the view from our room, the beautiful roses from the entrance, the clean swimming pool, the fact that we could play table tennis and billiards game (it was not overcrowded), the cleanliness of the room and of all the spaces in the hotel, the tasty food in the restaurant, the friendly staff who was willing to help and to make us confortable. In a word... we loved everything. We would like to thank for such a nice and relaxing mini holiday and we hope we'll return soon to Mara Hotel because it is a really good escape from everyday life stress.

nice room, nice view, nice pool

check in at 4PM, we weren’t allowed to hang around the terrace or the swimming pool until our room was ready. We were travelling with a 4 year old kid, so we asked if we could have a snack and a drink at the terrace. The reception staff just told us that it was not possible, that this is the hotel policy and to come back at 4 PM. Also, the breakfast was poor. We stayed at Mara every year for 4 years now, but I don’t think we will come back, the service quality is not the same.
