Riad Mouna

Lovely little riad very close to the Jemaa el-Fnaa 'square' off a busy medina street. Ideal location. Looks and was every bit as described. Apart from its cool look, the staff are its great asset. They will message you in advance with ideas, book your airport transfers for reasonable prices and handle all of your trips and other requirements without any issues. They will walk you to meeting points and wheel your bags for you. All of them are very professional and have good functioning English to make your stay a very pleasant one. The roof terrace is nice for sitting and relaxing with shade and the little pool is a great asset - it may be small but it is a life-saver when temperatures get to 44 degrees! It fits two very comfortably and will take four if you are friends! If not you soon will be. You might have to ask about changing the water. We were never charged for tea which was served by the 'pool'. We tried the hammam and massages for two of us and enjoyed the experience. The rooms are cool, especially the little 'single' which has an outside window. Other rooms are windowless except into the courtyard. We were on the ground floor and I would ask for that as the temperature rises about 5 degrees for every floor up to the roof! With overnight temps of 26-29 degrees we needed the aircon, which was adequate to keep us from boiling in our beds. We were never disturbed during the night by any sound at all and only people directly outside the room will be heard. The shower was excellent and there is an electrical towel rail meaning small items dry easily. They took some washing and didn't give a price or ask for money, so I assume it is done in house, and you make a donation. Princess the cat is adorable as are the little bird visitors on the rooftop. It is only a few hundred metres from taxi to room, so if your case has wheels you are good and as I say, they will arrange the transfer in the Booking.

Moroccan breakfasts are not great to be honest, a lot of bread and pastry and not much butter, but my partner thought they were perfectly fine. This one is as good as any though. For some reason we didn't get eggs every day. Be aware they take cash in euros or dirhams, not cards.

Everything was great! The location is perfect, not far from all main tourist spots (15 minutes walk to almost every spot) located right in Medina and yet in a silent part of it. There is even a small swimming pool on a roof after hot summer days.

The decoration was really nice. The location was perfect, the riad is less than five minutes away from Place Jemaa El-fnaa with the souk. It is also perfect for excursions, we are five minutes away of walking from pickup points. The staff was nice and really helpful. The air-conditioning was amazing in heat nights. Even though the riad is close to the city life, it’s really peaceful (there was a football match of the World Cup broadcast on big screen during the night on place Jemaa El-Fnaa and we heard nothing)

The owners take the keys of our rooms during the day so some time when we come back we have to wait for a few minutes as the hotel manager is coming down to open the main door and give us our room key.

Pretty and clean. I slept in other 2 riads on the same trip and looks like heating is not common despite it gets very cold in the night, but this riad had a heater in the bathroom, which made the room cozy and not that humid.

The host made us aware about time change because of ramadan, but overall was not very friendly, not welcoming at all. We were leaving at 8:15 because of our flight: he told us we could have breakfast at 8/8:05, but he was no where to be found at that time.
