Harbour Lodge Wellington

The property has stunning views, even in the rain. Our hosts were great to chat with and looked after us very well. We had a lovely breakfast prepared for us by our hosts who joined us for breakfast. There was a friendly relaxed atmosphere at the lodge and other guests intermingled making it a very comfortable.

The driveway was steep and hard to find from the road. Although in fairness it was pouring with rain when we were trying to find house numbers.

The views are exceptional! The bed was super comfortable. The bathroom floor is heated! Breakfast is continental and very filling. We enjoyed the time spent with Lou and Chris who are so interesting, they even did some much needed laundry for us!

The owners were very friendly & helpful with local information. Hot breakfast served daily with a smile.

Fresh towels weren’t changed daily. Don’t know how to work the tv in room or shared lounge.

The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. We had the use of the guest lounge, which was spacious. We liked that the owners joined us for breakfast (they just had a coffee). The view over the harbour was amazing. Breakfast was nice but we didn’t have croissants on the first morning as they had forgotten to get them.

While we had the use of the guest lounge, we had to light the fire ourselves (it was cold and rainy), and with limited resources provided. The hearth looked like it hadn’t been swept in a while. The pool area leaked in the rain and smelt musty. While there was parking onsite, it was very tight and limited. Coming in and out of the property required great care due to the steepness and the fact the property is on a tight bend. On arrival, there was no explanation of wifi, use of spa/sauna etc, or whether we were supposed to light the fire in the lounge or not- (we did because it hasn’t been lit).
