We stayed in villa 15, forgot the name, that villa is honestly a slice of paradise, it was hard to leave the villa when it was so nice inside, we had a massive pool with a waterfall where we spent most of our time, every morning the ground man pool cleaners and room cleaners would come by and the done an exceptional job, especially the 2 lads that cleaned the rooms, the kids looked forward to the towel animals that they make daily on the end of your bed surrounded by hand picked local flowers, they even done our laundry daily, the resort itself has everything you need from messages to tours, snorkelling right out front of the resort to dining at the restaurant on the beach, meals mid range for price, still a lot cheaper that Australia, but if your looking for the cheap local eats there are plenty local Warungs at the front of the resort, pemuteran doesn’t really offer to much in the way for clothing markets, but we did stumble across one clothe shop that was cheap and had everything we were looking for, if your looking to escape the city life and relax in total paradise then this is the place for you, just remember it’s a village so you won’t get all the tourist and party scenes like in the city
There’s not too much I didn’t like, I got sick and was craving a ham cheese tomato fresh sandwich, after searching for 2 days I couldn’t find one, to be expected though, pemuteran is village so it’s hard to find everything you would find in a city

Large and spacious villas near the beach. Very attractive and traditional Balinese style. Near the national park with bird watching and snorkeling.
I wish they did a turn down at dinner time.

Amertha is a little paradise far away of the crowd. Villas are amazing, with private pool and green garden. All public areas are well maintained. Beach is not amazing, but they have a coral reef a few steps from the beach.

The villas and pools are big and nice. We were booked in seafront villa nr 3 which was a good choice.
We were here 5 years ago and meantime the place needs renovations to some villas, pools and grounds. We faced a problem with the swimming pool which turned green on the second day after heavy rains and were moved to villa nr 2 which actually had the same problem with the pool and this villa was in need of renovation. In the end we were moved to villa nr 4. Meanwhile half of the day was gone. There were only 2 more guests in the resort but the number of staff were around 30 ; all doing very little to nothing and no management to be seen around. Spa is mediocre.

This hotel is set in such a beautiful spot, tucked between the hills and the sea, and the natural scenery really steals the show. You get the best of both worlds: calm green hills on one side and endless ocean views on the other. It feels peaceful, refreshing, and a little bit magical, especially during sunrise and sunset.
The atmosphere is laid-back and perfect for switching off. Whether you’re sitting on the balcony, walking around the property, or just enjoying the view from your room, nature is always right there with you. The sound of the waves mixed with the quiet of the hills makes it incredibly relaxing.
Rooms are comfortable and well maintained, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring or doing absolutely nothing. Overall, it’s a great choice if you’re looking for a scenic escape, fresh air, and a stay that feels close to nature without sacrificing comfort.

Wonderful gardeners, the huge area kept extremely tidy. Huge thank you to all of them 🙏 Small water bottles in the bathroom and big bottles in the outdoor kitchen area, no worries. Bed and pillows were comfy and villas clean. Breakfast was good and tasty.
As said, was a solo teaveller. My local friend also. We shared the same garden in separate houses. Would like to warn you. The front door we were able to lock, but not the doors to the toilet and bathroom. The keys just did not work. But … the toilet and the bathroom were an open air ones. The outside wall quite low. Taking into account the resort is in the remote area, it was and is a huge security risk. Despite I have been robbed in the middle of the night in another coutry years ago, I slept well. But my dear friend could not 😞 No idea, what happened to the stuff, but they sent a following message the night before leaving next morning: “When exactly will you leave tomorrow ?” What a hell, what kind of question was that ! We were aware of the accommodation rules, where from could we know the previous night about that, when will we exactly leave in the next day 🙄

My stay at Amertha was absolutely exceptional. The villas are spacious, beautifully designed, and offer total privacy—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff are honestly incredible; they go above and beyond every single day, and the level of care they put into maintaining and cleaning the property really shows.
The gardens are immaculate, creating a peaceful atmosphere that makes it hard to leave. The location is also ideal, especially with a dive centre right on site to help organise snorkelling and diving trips around Pemuteran and Menjangan Island—both are must-visit spots. There are also plenty of fantastic restaurants just a short walk away along the main street.
This was my second time returning, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again in an instant. Everyone should experience the magic of this beautiful part of Bali at least once.

Stunning beachside location and very kind staff. Delicious local food at their restaurant.
Pretty much everything from the rooms, the pool and view.

We stayed five nights at Amertha Bali Villas in the oceanfront Teratai villa. The location was stunning, and the villa itself was spacious and well-equipped, though a little dated. The outdoor area was a real highlight, offering plenty of spots to relax and enjoy the pool.
Breakfast was very good, although we didn’t dine at the restaurant otherwise so can’t comment on the broader menu. The friendly staff and well-tended gardens contributed to the overall charm of the property.
The beach deserves a special mention, as the local community’s daily efforts kept it pristine compared to many other places we visited.
The main downside was the noise - from the road, a nearby mosque, and possibly even a karaoke lounge. Of course, this isn’t the hotel’s fault, but it’s worth being aware of. The only other minor issue was that some broken furniture and cleaning supplies were stored along the (mostly unused) creek side of the villa, which detracted a little from the otherwise lovely setting.

Everything! The villas were beautiful and spacious! The grounds and gardens so green and well kept. The beds were huge and we slept like babies, as it was sooooo peaceful. We loved the private pool with lovely warm water. The WiFi was great. The service and staff spectacularly friendly. Lots of activities on offer. The snorkelling organised from the hotel to Menjangan island was so amazing, we went twice! The restaurant was amazing too. Some of the best food we had in Bali. And so much more, we don’t have space to write about. You have to stay here to experience Pemuteran!!! We will come back!
Nothing!

Excellent stay and incredible value for money at Amertha. I came with a few friends for spearfishing, but I could very easily imagine spending a week here with my family - suitable for children young and old. I will most certainly be back.
We stayed in a 4 bedroom villa. Unfortunately, my villa had no hot water in the shower. The other 3 had hot water, so wasn't a huge issue. Also, on of the refrigerators near the pool was not working and the food we had in it was spoiled overnight.

The 3rd villa we tried was good .nice place to relax.
The beach was FULL of rocks and stones. I couldn't get in and I saw raw sewage.
There was very little sand. The area around the beach chairs was dirty with broken cobblelock. The chairs themselves were filthy. Coffee for an americo was very expensive.

Our villa was huge, the pool was a good size and a comfortable temperature. There was plenty of space to relax in or out of the sun. The staff are all very pleasant. On arrival you are put into a Whatsapp group so you can easily contact the spa or reception or whoever, and you always get a prompt response. The location is excellent - right on the beach and in the middle of the village so it is an easy walk to just about anywhere. Despite staying 16 nights, the cleaning staff managed to come up with a different towel decoration on the bed every day - kudos! There is plenty of drinking water available in the kitchenette plus there is plenty of space in the fridge for your own drinks. Our villa had outdoor showers as well as indoor ones which I personally love. The gardens are absolutely stunning.
The pillows are large and firm - too firm for my neck (I brought my own pillow). There is very little selection for breakfast which is really noticeable when staying for an extended period. It is easy to have food delivered to your room but there doesn't seem to be a process to remove the plates afterwards. Once I just took them back myself. The other time, the cleaning staff were literally cleaning the table around the plates that had been there since the previous day. I had to actually insist that they remove them. Despite there being a kitchenette with a hob and microwave, it is most unlikely that you will have anything you could cook IN. Generally you will find a couple of plates, cutlery and a few random glasses. The gardeners do a spectacular job but the peace was disturbed quite a bit by the sound of lawnmowers and strimmers.

Great property all round. Clean, comfortable, spacious and superb private pool. Gardens are beautifully maintained as is the pool and games area. Loved outdoor kitchen area where we spent most of our time. Good breakfast in ocean-side, open restaurant.

Stunning villa for two couples, pool was fab, staff were so friendly and helpful. Lovely. Easy drive to menjangang island snorkeling trip. Yes you can hear the call to prayer but you're on a Muslim part of Bali so that's only to be expected. If you're upset by that, don't come to Bali! Several restaurants, warungs etc within easy walking distance. We were in Jeparing ocean facing villa. Excellent value for money.

We were in a beach view unit for 7 nights. The resort grounds and garden at the unit are beautiful and very well maintained. Our shared pool was gorgeous and a perfect temperature during our February stay. All the resort staff (room service, groundskeepers, restaurant) were outstanding. A short walk to Biorock beach for very good snorkeling when the ocean visibility is good. The resort restaurant on the beach is lovely, and we found several other places within a short walk that were outstanding. Having the villas in small clusters seems to allow better value than if each unit was stand alone. Because it was the off-season we only briefly had a neighbor. We booked a very nice snorkel/dive trip out to the island through their dive shop.
Really nothing. Some of their proffered services were pretty expensive compared to local alternatives. We either paid for the convenience or went elsewhere for the cost savings.

Stunning, very unique. Away from the hustle and bushel of Kuta, Legion etc., Staff exceptional. Love that you have your own pool. Mountain backdrop and ocean front!
Villa entrance into the villas not wheelchair accessible, however, maintenance staff tried their best with home made ramps. 10/10 for effort.

Our family villa with private pool was incredibly spacious & comfortable and 50m from the restaurant and beach. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant because there was enough choice to keep us happy.
There was no pork on the menu, not even pork bacon with the English breakfast ... shame

Territory of the hotel is very spacious and great. Beautiful mountains view.
Villa condition was really rundown and textiles really should be cleaned. Villas roofs are made of thatch so it is not sound isolated. So be ready to wake up at 5am from nearby mosque prayer. Its really loud. For people who are hoping to get good night rest - it is not an option! Be aware of bats' poop on the floor and on the outside furniture once you step out of your bungalows doors in the morning,

The location is amazing and very serene. The resort upgraded our villa and gave a sea facing villa. The location, Villa & staff were very good. The people of this resort are very courteous and helpful. Learned scuba diving at the resort the staff at scuba diving were very good. The scuba trainer Mr. Krishtine was very patient in training and gave enough time for me to understand the whole process & to do things while scuba diving.
Well only problem was Vegetarian food which was not available at the resort. Though the kitchen was given where we could cook & eat but there was not much veg options in the restaurant and we being vegetarian it was difficult to eat at the restaurant. But the resort made it up to us by providing private kitchen and we are very grateful for that. This place is very nice and luxurious. You can say luxury of next level. We will surely want to go back if possible in future.

Poor quality of food at the restaurant, luckily there are many warungs with authentic, super tasty Balinese food in a walking distance from the resort.

The villa was large and clean, and the chosen art in the room was very nice and fitting the atmosphere of the villa. The private pool was large an very nice as well. It felt that you become part of the community of Permuteran and we were blessed to attend a farewell party that was organised to thank the 2 dozen of trainees for their efforts at Amertha.
Amertha is right at the beach with snorkelling opportunities. We would love to come back next time
