Restraunt is brilliant. Food lovely. Staff great and extremely attentive.
Toilet doesn't flush. The 5 ply toilet paper probably blocking the system

A kettle with bleach in it was a surprise, and being charged £2.00 each for two tea bags which were ruined by the chlorine in the kettle was beyond reasonable inflation.
I could say it left a bad taste in the mouth, to an otherwise enjoyable stay.
Little recognition of the seriousness of the mistake.

The location was perfect for where we were travelling to and it was from a recommendation of someone who stayed there in 1985 that made us choose it. Beautifully decorated, staff were lovely food was wonderful and delicious, great breakfast as well.
Signage to the property (after following sat nav) wasn’t as clear as it could be, we ended up turning in a neighbouring private drive which I think a lot of guests do judging by the signs in the neighbours drive, but for future guests turning is near the garage and to look out for the white wall with hotel written on it, do not take the first turning left after the bridge.

A lovely hotel, the staff were exceptionally good and helpful. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable.
the food was delicious - please try the tea and coffee available to buy - the hand made biscuits that come with them are delicious.
Sorr we didnt take any pictures without us in - we kept meaning to take pictures of the food but it was too delicious and we tucked right in.
A lovely atmosphere and very welcoming staff. I would definately recommend.
My pillows were a bit hard. I did ask for feather pillows but none ever arrived, hence I had to sleep with a cushion which was softer then the foam pillow. I guess its what you are used to. If you cant sleep with a foam pillow I suggest that you take your own. Thats the only fault with this lovely hotel so dont let it put you off.

I have stayed several times due to the helpful, friendliness of the staff. People are the heart of any organization and to be welcomed as a "friend" each time I come is why I keep returning.
It would be good if the TV's in the rooms could receive all the Freeview channels as well.

The room was comfortable and the dinner menu had a wide range of choices.
Had to wait a very long time for a dinner table. But fair enough, the Book Festival nearby meant that they were unusually busy.

Breakfast was good 👍 staff were lovely and located right within the town
The water when i ran a bath looked as if it had come from a dirty stream . It might well be from a stream which is usually fine, if so they need better uv filtration and filters.

The food at this hotel is amazing both breakfast and evening meal. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was marvellous and there is so much to do in the area for all abilities.
The hotel is old but has character - some of the furnishings were a little tired but there was a bit of a cleanliness problem with grubby banisters, doors and lightswitches. Also we had a few cobwebs in our room.

Nice room with a spacious bathroom. Staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent and service great.
The included breakfast was good and the room also had tea/coffee facilities with a kettle and biscuits which was useful.
Great private parking and the hotel is only a short walk from Newton Stewart centre.

Evening meal was good and they coped with 2 restaurants and the outside picnic area which was full ,,very well..breakfast was good as well..
The attic room was too low for me ,,, my head touched the ceiling easily,,,and the stairs were tricky and tight when carrying a suitcase … not a room for a pensioner but that is all they had…

Fabulous Hotel, this was our 2nd stay and we will be back. Was even better this time around, staff are really friendly and helpful. As are the locals - great craic in the bar. Lovely play area for the kids with a mini zip line. Food is excellent with lots of choice available. Plenty of parking availble. Can't recommend it enough
Nothing, everything is great - unfortunately didn't get the amazing lemon pavlova the 2nd night 😢 😅😅 due to a large party who ate it all 🤣🤣. Just have to come back & stay again & hopefully it'll still be on the menu 🥰
