Shimbwe Meadows Home

We had a wonderful stay at Shimbwe Meadows and truly enjoyed the experience. The property is set in a beautiful, peaceful location with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Tanzania. What really stood out was the hospitality. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. They made us feel at home and were always happy to help with anything we needed. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the property was calm and relaxing. The food was also very good, with fresh and tasty meals that made the stay even more enjoyable. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway away from the busy city, surrounded by nature and genuine Tanzanian hospitality, I would definitely recommend Shimbwe Meadows. We had a memorable stay and would be happy to return.

Had struggled with the Wifi which could have been avoided but that is fine, Beatus tried his best to give hotspot and be available to solve all issues.

We had a great stay at this B&B-style hotel about 30 minutes outside Moshi. The rooms are fairly basic, but clean and comfortable, and the setting is really nice with views of the forest and Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. The rooftop viewing platform is a nice touch. Beatus, the host, was welcoming and very helpful, especially with planning a safari and suggesting local hikes. The food was very good and reasonably priced, and Janet did a great job preparing and serving our meals. The main downside is the location-it's a bit remote, which makes getting to and from town (about 20-30 minutes) less convenient. The WiFi was also hit or miss at times, though that's somewhat expected given the location.

A breakfast menu didn't exist, we had to tell thm what we wanred for breakfast everyday but I couldn't remember the options

The location is absolutely amazing with views of the Kilimanjaro! Our bedroom had views of the mountain and also the outdoor porch area where you have your breakfast has this stunning view. They also offer lunch and dinner for 10$ per meal per person. Also they offer pick up from and to the airport. We did a hike with them to the Materuni waterfalls which was a great experience. You walk from the hotel to the waterfall and back and it takes about 4 hours. Definitely recommend this hike!

The credit card payment machine was broken so we had to pay in cash so be aware of this.
