Pinfold Court Apartments

Amazing value for money. Very comfortable flat. Excellent quality TV. Off street parking available.

Needed more care with cleaning. Occasional hairs on lots of surfaces. Small bits of rubbish hidden behind furniture. Otherwise sheets clean and no stains/spills.

The location was fantastic, being right in the heart of Knowsley and really close for short drives to the central goings on (including the Safari Park). We were staying so that we had quick access to the Shakespeare North theatre for a wedding, and it was literally 5 minutes away in the car. The space in apartment 6 was really nice - amenities were great, and there was great communication with Anastasia before we arrived, so I felt comfortable accessing the property. Towels provided, beds were made nicely, and there were even some spices to use for cooking, alongside the usual kitchen tools.

We arrived dead on our check-in time of 3pm, and there was someone still cleaning the apartment, which is fine of course. Unfortunately, the apartment was still quite dusty in various places, and my daughter has dust mite allergies so this wasn't ideal. Lots of sneezing and itching throughout the weekend for her. We did unfortunately find a large discarded toenail in the main bedroom. For light sleepers - day times and potentially night times are relatively noisy with traffic in apartment 6 as it faces a junction, and the windows don't seem to supress it much even when closed.

It was in an excellent location for visiting various family in the area and to attend a Christening. It was clean and adequate for a few days visit. There are lots of food takeaways and restaurants nearby so no need to cook if you don't want to. There is also a pub across the road and a Tesco and Premier shop nearby.

The kitchen isn't very well equipped for cooking, there are not many utensils and no dishwasher. It didn't bother us as we were eating out anyway and takeaways are aplenty. The bathroom and the bedroooms could do with more storage shelves there are not many places to put things. There was a lack of places to store bags in the bedrooms as well.

The location is convenient, with a Tesco and other local amenities nearby, a short drive to Prescot, and within walking distance of a train station. The TV was also good, with smart features like Netflix and YouTube available.

Access to the property was very frustrating — it took around 45 minutes to get inside due to a badly jammed door, which remained difficult to use throughout the stay. The contact phone number provided was invalid, and communication with the host was poor. Cleanliness was below expectations, with dirty fridge and cupboards, and visible dirt on the bedding. The sheets were very thin, and the pillows were uncomfortable. The freezer didn’t work, causing food to defrost. Basic essentials were lacking — no hand soap, minimal washing-up liquid, no toilet roll on arrival (despite a promise of reimbursement that never came), and no bin liners. A major concern was the absence of a carbon monoxide alarm, which is a basic safety requirement. Other guests also expressed similar concerns, particularly regarding safety.
