I think this was a truly authentic La Gomera experience. In fact, I would even call this house "The La Gomera Experience" because it gave us the feeling of living there in conditions very similar to those of the local people. The views were amazing, and there was plenty of space both indoors and outdoors. We had no trouble finding the house, and it was a lovely surprise to find fresh fruit and local beer waiting for us upon arrival. The house was quite cold when we first arrived, but there were heaters available, so we were able to warm it up comfortably. I can imagine that this would be a big advantage during the hotter months, helping to keep the interior cool. There is also a neighboring property with chickens and a rooster. We actually enjoyed hearing the rooster, as it added to the local atmosphere and made the experience feel even more authentic. It was one of those small details that reminded us we were staying in a real community rather than a typical tourist accommodation. There were lots of nice plants around the house and nice walking trails close by. The neighbor was whistling Silbo Gomero!
The windows are very small, which is understandable as this is an old house. As a result, the interior feels quite dark most of the time. There are two terraces available, which is a nice feature, but the weather wasn't great during our stay, so we didn't get to use them as much as we had hoped. The beds were extremely hard. I have a back condition, but even my partner, who has no back problems, found them uncomfortable. We ended up gathering every blanket we could find in the house to create a slightly softer layer for me so I could sleep with less pain. However, we noticed that very firm beds seem to be common throughout La Gomera. For me, having had spinal surgery, this was a real challenge. The stairs leading to the house are quite steep and sometimes slippery, so I would not recommend this accommodation to people with mobility issues or knee problems. The water pressure in the shower was also very low. The kitchen was functional, but I would have appreciated more kitchen amenities and equipment, particularly an oven, as it would have made preparing meals much easier during a longer stay. There were quite a few insects inside the house. This didn't bother me personally, but anyone who is afraid of bugs may find it uncomfortable. The main reason we felt somewhat disappointed, however, was the noise from the nearby road. In La Gomera, there seems to be an unwritten rule that drivers honk their horns when approaching blind corners on narrow roads. Since the house is located next to one of these roads, we were often woken up early in the morning by loud car horns. Even during the day, the constant honking was quite disruptive. Hearing a car horn naturally creates a sense of alarm, so it was difficult to fully relax. Before our stay, I had seen reviews mentioning road noise and was surprised, as the street is very small. After staying there, I realized that the issue is not traffic itself but the frequent use of horns.

El entorno, la paz y tranquilidad, con unas terrazas de vistas increíbles. Rodeado de naturaleza y aire puro. Un detalle bonito las cervezas artesanas y la fruta con las que nos obsequió el dueño.
Nada en particular.
