Studio 7 Apartment

Everything we needed in a small space in this first floor property for a short break. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a tiny bottle of milk were there to welcome us - just what was needed after a long journey. Large pull down bed in lounge was comfy for 6’3” son. Two singles upstairs with long hanging rack for clothes but also lots of drawers built into the wall - very clever. Good quality linen and towels used . Good pressure from large headed electric shower and a bath for a good soak. Our own drive to park the car. A little terrace area to sit in the sun for breakfast and listen to the birds (with a barbecue, which sadly we did not get a chance to use). Close enough to walk into centre of St Austell . Asda within short drive. Handy for many areas in Cornwall. We went to Charleston Harbour, Fowey, Eden Project, Minack Theatre open air theatre overlooking sea near Penzance.

Nothing really to dislike. But Points to note: Wash basin in bathroom a little small and tap a bit fierce so we had to be careful not to soak the floor ! Could do with providing something to dry down the bath walls after a shower- we used half of the J- cloth in the kitchen in the end. Stair Carpet leading up from street smelled slightly mouldy, possibly after rain, but not enough to smell upstairs (so might need checking).

Quirky decor, great roof terrace, off road parking, easy (uphill) walk to town centre, well located to drive to attractions in Cornwall

no lamps in the upstairs bedroom, toilet and bath were slow to drain, blind in upstairs bedroom was unreliable

We were early but were received by Cathy who cleaned the place and taken to our hosts home where we were treated ao warmly - to a welcome tea and croissants while we waited for the place to be readied for us. Were also given a ride to the station to catch our train at the end of our stay because the busses were otherwise occupied. Thanks so much for that - helped us enormously.

Minor things which we have already told our host who was also aware of them snd will remedy them. (Eg bedside lights, markings on the oven and stove.)

A well-catered and comfortable flat with a lot of character.
