The first, and the most important information about Frigino: this is REAL Umbria. Full of wild nature, great smells of herbs, and tasty food and wine, with all facilities to feel you great :). If you are lover of famous Italian la Dolce Vita, if you want to loose yourself on the wilderness to find the meaning of life... this is the place for you. I checked the location rating on 10, but you have to know, that the rating of location depends on your attitude. If you like comfortable hotels close to the main promenade, easy access and full of entertainment opportunities - Frigino is not for you. But if you want to be close to nature, and admire heaven full of stars, and hike by hours and meet nobody - you are welcome. And you should be a good driver too. To get to Frigino (doesn't matter if you choose the road from Citta di Castello nor Apecchio) you must drive about 10 km on gravel, narrow road full of turns. But as they say: nothing venture, nothing gain :). The prize is worth everything. First of all: hosts! Maurizio, Graziana, Paola and Sofia are extremely kind, hospitable, and friendly persons. Thanks to them we can try genuine umbrian cuisine. They tooke us for nice hike around the wooden trails. Maurizio told us about history of Frigino, secrets of truffles and show us the most beautiful views. The apartment was very comfortable. Cozy bedroom with wardrobe was more than ok. Bathroom could be a little larger, but was ok also :). Kitchen was equipped with everything you want, even the oven. Breakfast and diner on small terrace with the breathtaking view on mountains of Umbria and Marche is priceless :). There is forno - external wood-burning oven, where you can make pizza or fish in Frigino. Swimming pool is quite small but very comfortable, with great view. Night swimming in shimmering lights, and stars above you is strongly recommended. The BBQ place is for you, same like couple external tables where you can make own BBQ party or join to rest of people.

The property and hosts are lovely. Clean and comfortable accommodation, amazing views during the day, and incredible starts at night. We joined the hosts for dinner and are so glad that we did. We were visiting Italy from our home in New Zealand. Experiences such as what we had at Frigino definitely made the long journey worth it. Highly recommended!
