Gorgeous Black Forest hotel.

Our third stay here. It is very charming and an extremely cozy hotel nestled in the Black Forest. Service is great, everyone is extremely nice and helpful. Spa area is perfect, not big nor crowded. We also noticed more vegan,/ vegetarian options on the menu this year. We will be back again next year for the holidays.

Amazing hotel in fantastic setting

Wonderful location in the mountains and beside a lake. Extremely clean and staff very friendly. Everything you could ask for at breakfast. Lovely lake walk and fascinating bake house - just wish we had room for the free loaves.

Stay away from this would be hotel

Absolutely nothing. The lake is nice, but I cannot give a single star to the hotel for the nice lake which they exploit. The lake has nothing to do with the hotel. My suggestion for anyone who wants to enjoy the lake is actually to come and walk around the lake and then go. It won't take more than an hour, and there are plenty of the guest houses around and along B500 which is very beautiful.

Let's start with the service, which simply doesn't exist in this hotel. My request to help with the suitcases was immediately rejecting without any excuses. I was told literally that they "don't have the service and anyone who could help with the heavy suitcases". This contradicted with the view of a luggage transport trolley (gepackwagen) standing at the entrance. Then we were given a room for disabled people which gave a strong impression that we're in a hospital. I've immediately come back to the reception and asked the woman there to change the room, but to no avail. She said that the large rooms for families are like that. I didn't believe and re-asked her if the hotel is for disabled people, and she confirmed. Against, it seems liars because it has never been mentioned at the booking.com site and worth checking. Anyway, we had a strong impression while staying in the room that we're in a hospital. For our 4 y.o. girl, they put a crib. Seriously? Everything is old, furniture, carpet with spots. Mattresses are very soft like used many times, pillows are super small and put in large covers to create the impression of volume. It was really disgusting to stay in that room. The breakfast was not fresh either. Cheese looked like it was not stored well, the omelette was overcooked and tasteless. The parking was full when we came, so it took few rounds to find a place. Many people come there just for the lake view and occupy the parking lots which were supposed to be reserved for guests. All this is for "only" ~150€ per night. I have only one word for this would be hotel: chutzpah! Really, if you need to drive through the mountains and see this small lake, at least save your money for a better hotel or b&b in the area. Don't be bought by this positive rating. In my opinion, it is made.

All on point!

All the staff was very friendly and we were very well taken care of. The room size it’s perfect for a family with kids. The room was very well cleaned! The breakfast offers quite some variety as well as the restaurant for dinner/lunch. In the restaurant they have a small kids corner which is perfect to distract the younger ones!

Magnificent room with views over the lake.

Large, stylish, comfortable room with large balcony overlooking the lake. Excellent dinner by the lake. Very extensive buffet breakfast. Scenic walks from the hotel.

A stay by the Lake

Location is the main strength of the place, no doubt. Yo won't find many place around with such a spectacular scenery, you are accommodated nearly on top of a mountain, on a mountain lake, surrounded by the black forest, and with views of the whole area, could you imagine a better mountain place? Accommodation comes with many facilities, (and more to come as we were told that this year they are about to build a new construction enhancing the already good facilities they have. They have Saunas, rest area with water beds with beautiful mountain views, massage service, a restaurant with great choices at an affordable price, just next there is a shopping area, small but with a couple of souvenir stores, the place is isolated but comes with many things to spend your time. There are also a couple of hikes to do around, I do recommend to hike up the top of the mountain and enjoy a cup of tea and cake at the restaurant there, you won't regret. Staff was quite friendly and kind with us, they gave us advice, provide neat information, and made it all to help us during our stay. Restaurant staff members were remarkable, always with a smile and talkative, they placed our stay to another level. Room was huge, with lot of space for us, clean, comfortable and bright, with a balcony facing the landscape mountains. Bed was incredible, it was like lying on a cloud, one of this beds you want to carry home. Good thing to consider, parking, as is the only way to reach the place. You have two choices, you can reserve with the hotel, which comes with an extra cost, and parking is not covered, isn't but a number of parking spots among the public one separated with a chain. My advice, if you arrive out of the main busy hours when tourists may be packing the place, just park on the public spots, it'll make no difference but to your wallet.

Was more my fault than Hotel's, having known I would have reserved a room with lake views, ours facing the mountains were great, but the main appeal is the lake, so I would recommend to assure you are placed lake side. The hotel informs about SPA area, which they have, but it's more a couple of wet and dry saunas, with small areas, more like a circuit, but rather small everything.

The breakfast buffet was very good, with a small one setup just for children. The room and the view were amazing. All the staff were very friendly.

Exceptional

Great location if you want to explore neighbourhood and get an early start before crowds appear. Tasty cakes and breakfast has wide offer including option of self squeezed juices. We were pampered and treated like kings and queens.
