The Castleton

We stayed in the Double room with en suite. It was the perfect size for the 2 of us and there was plenty of storage even after we unpacked and we had a weeks worth of stuff with us. The bed was really comfortable and was difficult to get out of some mornings because it was so good 😂. The bathroom was also a perfect size for the 2 of us and we didn't have any problems with it. Simon was also very accommodating and when we needed a hair dryer he was more than happy to provide us with it. Then there is the breakfast which was amazing. A cooked breakfast every morning is the best way to start the day. Everything was cooked perfectly and there was a limited choice with cereals and drinks but it was enough for what we needed. Overall it was an amazing 7 day stay and we will be definitely coming back again soon!

There wasnt really anything to fault much with the property apart from 3 small things. Firstly you only get a small bathroom shelf and since we had a lot of toiletries we couldn't store everything in the barhroom which wasn't a serious problem at all. Another thing is that you choose what you want in your cooked breakfast when you arrive and each morning it gets served to you. However it would be best if we could choose what we wanted on the day and maybe some other alternative options to a regular cooked breakfast could be implemented too. Finally, the last small problem we had was the noise. The quiet hours are from 10pm till 7am in the morning but late at night we would hear lots of stomping and footsteps etc from the rooms above us and it got really annoying really quickly. This should be enforced more as it's not easy to try and sleep or wind down for the night with noise like that. Especially if they are going up and down the stairs as well as there is a communal toilet in one of the landings. But overall those were tiny issues and it didn't effect our stay massively at all.

Very nice owner, very good breakfasts, clean, and a lovely decor!

From the moment we arrived and met Simon we felt welcomed. We were shown to our room which was well proportioned and absolutely spotless and clean. Each request prior to us arriving (due to our health) was met, first floor, walk-in shower and the bed was as comfortable a bed I have slept in. The bedding was really clean and the mattress was protected, the pillows were really comfy too. Selection of tea and coffee and clean kettle and a hairdryer my wife loved. The breakfast menu was excellent and just the right amount for us both and, the quality was excellent. We have already booked the same room for next year! In fact we decided to rebook after spending our first 2 nights. Simon was a brilliant host and, as long as you asked he was very helpful and spent time with guests. Myself and my wife are already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you Simon, top top bloke.

There was nothing we didn't like and that's the truth.

Breakfast was good plenty to eat just would have liked some fresh fruit, the room was great and host provided a fan to help with the heat, bed was comfortable and lovely bedding all nice and clean, pleasant room with facilities for tea making. fresh towels when needed and great space for hanging and storage for clothes. Tv and alexa charging points for phones.

Maybe a chair in the room .
