A good place location -wise. Hoping for fresh fish but nothing to be found - where does it go?

comfortable, well equipped in bedrooms and sitting area. Reclining chairs good for a treat. Good location for getting around the Peninsula. Quiet area.

Cluttered kitchen, equipment you really didn't need. Crockery stacked too tightly, difficult to get in and out. Could have been cleaner around cooker - hood and fan area greasy. Cold under feet.

Strathan Chalet

Location, views unbeatable.

Paid premium price for use of hot tub with view. On arrival after a long hot drive we were really looking forward to relaxing only to find the hot tub was not turned on. When contacted the owners excuse was, "we didn't think you would want to use it". They did set it up but it wasn't available until the following day. Trying to save money on electricity bill. We also had to set up the outside furniture, it was left in storage and covered in dead leaves. Sorry to be so negative but it is also advertised with free wifi, more miss than hit with internet. Overall, very disappointed with owners, although as I said the location is wonderful.

VIEWS views views!!! Every room has thee most gorgeous views over Lochinver Bay & the surrounding mountains. Lovely

Amazing views, comfy beds, nice bedlinen, wildlife on doorstep. Everything you could possibly need in the well equipped kitchen. Relaxing jacuzzi bath. Surprisingly strong Wifi. Nice friendly proprietor John. The fresh flowers were a lovely touch.

Only thing I can think of was the tv was a bit slow with v limited choice of channels. With the stunning location you should be out / don’t need / shouldn’t be watching tv, but with the unreliable Scottish weather/those with limited mobility access to iplayer /apps/steaming services would be nice.

Wonderful location with great view of Suilven and easy access to hills and scenic drives. Very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Host answered queries straightaway.

Very cold with all windows open when we arrived with no instructions about how to close them, but host answered message. Decor a little old fashioned but not distasteful. We just put the main electric fire on to keep living area warm so rest of chalet very cold. Didn't like to use heaters in rooms we weren't in. The one on the living room wall didn't appear to work. Smaller lamp on upright lamp didn't work. No instructions for microwave, but finally figured it out. No hot water in taps until we realised there was a hot water switch we had to put on.

A fabulous stay!

Had a really lovely stay here last month, just me and my dog. Set in a lovely location, just outside of Lochinver village and very close to Lochinver Cermaics which would highly recommend a visit to. The lodge was very well equipped and really appreciated all the facilities (washing machine, dishwasher etc.) after a few days travelling along the NC500 route. Enclosed garden was perfect for the dog to have a wander around! Had a fabulous stay, thank you!

The internal decor wasn’t to my taste but the fabulous facilities more than made up for this!

We had a lovely break at Caisteal Liath Cottage, which we liked a lot.

Loved the view from the cottage, it was clean, spacious and had virtually everything you could want.

The weather! But we were expecting it to be wet and nothing the hosts could do about that! But we did get wet, so a hairdryer would have been a nice addition as would a scrabble board.
