Access is a huge problem but once in the (top) apartment, we enjoyed exceptional views of the lake.

The view of the lake (true of the top apartment at least) is exceptional. The apartment is spotless and well equipped.

But for the 2 points below, I would have given you a rating of 9 rather than 7 - 1) The property is separate from the hotel. Entrance to the property - on a main road - is narrow and obscure. Once on the narrow driveway, we faced an old and dilapidated building, which made us think we were in the wrong place. The narrow driveway meant that the only way out of the property is to back onto the main road, with cars coming out of the tunnel towards us! In future, give the hotel address for satellite navigation purposes, check the guests in and show them how to find the property. Don't let them make the hazardous arrival directly at the property. 2) There are a 50+ stone steps walk-up mainly without railings. This was not a big problem for us but absolutely out of the question for anyone with the smallest mobility issue. This is quite a significant access issue, which should be made crystal clear to potential clients.

Perfect to relax away from the hustle and bustle

The apartment is a perfect size for two people. It has absolutely everything you need for a holiday. The location is in a very small village and so, a car is is needed for flexibility. The Villa Porta Relais is absolutely stunning and the service is better than exceptional. If you would like to relax, this is the place to go.

We travelled with our dog and so, a closed off outdoor area would have been best. However the space is open and the other residents must pass through.. in our case we seldom saw anyone.. so it was fine.

Great value for money

The apartment was nice and had excellent air con. Good facilities and lovely balcony with beautiful view of lake Maggiore. Location is excellent. Staff are wonderful. It belongs to the close by Relais Villa Porta hotel which is exceptional.

Road to apartment is not the most safe. A lot of steps. Was slightly musty/damp.

Fantastic view of Lago Maggiore

I didn't stay in the Leonardo apartment as the hotel that is managing the apartment gave to me an upgrade still in the same location, having one larger and with a fantastic view on the lake.

Breathtaking view & super friendly staff

The location is great and the apartment itself is full equipment, clean and cozy - perfect place to stay even longer. The absolute highlight is the big balcony facing to the west, so you really can enjoy stunning sunsets there. The hotel building just across the street also has a very nice private beach and park and a very good restaurant and amazing breakfast.

We had a big terrace with an amazing view! Everything was clean, the kitchen well equippes. the staff very friendly and professional, and best thing was that we could use the hotel villa porta’s park as well. The park was so beautiful with sunbeds, jacuzzi etc. Would definitely recommend the place!

Great views but walking across the road. No private beach.

Beautiful view

From the pictures it seems the residence is right on the lake/above the beach but in reality it's across the road (steep steps as well) and we never found a private beach mentioned in the description. There is only a public beach and from the hotel across where you get the keys only steep stair in the water not safe for kids and even adults. Restaurant is pricey and not such a good quality and small portions for what you pay. It used to be better, at least 8 years ago I used to go there. Better to eat pizza across the road but keep in mind this pizzeria only open 3 days a week (tue-thu) and unless you have a car there are no other alternatives to eat.

The flat was warm, comfortable, spotless with stunning views. All facilities available including free wi-fi, free parking

Make sure you read the instructions on how you get the keys before you arrive!! Drive to the hotel first! Do not walk to the appartment! The road is lethal! No pavement! To reverse into the road is also not something I would recommend. It's also not suitable for people with mobility issues. It's quite high with steep steps.

overall, great views of the lake but avoid if you a have habit of sleeping in quite.

There is no doubt that the property has great lake facing uninterrupted views. for us that was the most appealing point of the apartment. Apartment was clean and is space is good enough for 2 adults and small kid. one can visit their hotel restaurant- Tiffany which is 200 meters away is one of the best. the good was great, staff was very courteous and last but not the least - lake view. Simply amazing and we loved it!!

we visited during the month of Ocotober which means nights were bit cold and there is a need of aircon (heat). the aircon made so many weird noises throughout the night that we couldn’t sleep properly. that is the most nagging point of the apartment . apart from this the apartment is right on top of the busy road with clear traffic noise and there is railway line not too far from it. this noise pollution takes away some of the good points.

The view from the terrace overlooking Lago Maggiore is superb.

The only thing that wasn’t perfect was the water pressure of the shower, but that didn’t spoil our splendid stay!

Great apartment at the lake

The room had an excellent view of the lake. The property was clean on our arrival. The property was walking distance from the "beach". While struggling to find parking in Italy, it was refreshing to have an apartment where there was a parking spot available.

The directions to pick up the keys were horrible. It would be better just to state that the key can be picked up at the Camin hotel. As a guest, you don't know who or what the sister hotel is, as described on Booking.com. Furthermore, there was not enough plugs in the room and it did not had dish washing liquid or a kitchen towel to dry the dishes.

Zimmer waren gross und sauber.

Schlüsselübergabe war chaotisch, Parkplatzsituation eine Katastrophe und die Zimmer sahen nicht ansatzweise aus wie auf den Bildern - lieblos eingerichtete Zimmer mit Wandtattoos, keine View, Abends kein Parkplatz mehr am Haus gefunden. Insgesamt sehr enttäuschend, zumal für den Preis.

Charming geht anders ! Die Treppen zum Apartment waren steil und z Teil beschädigt u unbefestigt! Man muss erst an einem baufälligen Haus vorbei ! Lärm v Zug u Straße u Nachbarn haben eine Erholung schwer gemacht !!das Appartement war feucht und muffig ! Trotz Entfeuchtungs Geröt !

Sehr schönes Hotel mit tollem Blick auf den See. Direkt am See aber auch direkt an der Strasse.

Die Lage mit dem Blick auf den See war sehr schön. Die Wohnung verfügte über eine sehr grosse Terrasse mit mehreren Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten. Der Garten beim Hauptgebäude war ausserordentlich schön und geschmackvoll. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich.

Wir sind einige Male am Hotel vorbei gefahren. Es war nicht klar, welchen Namen man eingeben musste im Navi. Wir mussten anrufen. Wir waren in einer Dependance und die Frau von der Reception musste mit uns der stark befahrenen Strasse entlang gehen und dann 90 Treppenstufen hinauf bis zu der Wohnung. So waren wir abgetrennt vom eigentlichen Hotel. Das war uns so nicht bewusst bei der Buchung. Die Wohnung war zwar sehr schön aber die Anfahrt hätte besser beschrieben werden müssen.

Für 2 Nächte gerade akzeptabel...

Ich hatte einige Insekten im Zimmer. Viele Armeisen, die plötzlich aus dem Nichts aufgetaucht sind, Würmer and der Wand und einige Spinnen. Es roch sehr feucht, es gab wenig Tageslicht und einige Möbelstücke waren bereits sehr abgenutzt. Ich weiß, dass das das letzte freie Apartment war, doch zu dem Preis fand ich es eher umverschämt. Da ich nur 2 Tage dort verbracht habe, war es okay. Für längere Aufenthalte oder eine schöne Zeit zu 2 wäre das Apartment Dependance definitiv nicht zu empfehlen.

Vom Hotel geht es am Straßenrand ca.200 m entlang. Gefährlich da die Autos dort sehr schnell fahren.Nur 2 Parkplätze am Haus.71 Treppen hoch laufen. Nur 2 Kaffeebecher. Zu dem ist das Appartment ca. 10 qm kleiner als in der Beschreibung angegeben.Wir haben das reklamiert aber seit 10 Tagen hat sich nichts geändert.

Personal war sehr freundlich

Wir hatten ein Upgrade bekommen, größeres Appartement, was auch sehr nett war. Aber, vorne war stark befahrene Straße und direkt hinter dem Haus ist der Zug gefahren. Es war sehr laut, ob es auf dem Balkon oder im Haus war. Und schlafen war eine Katastrophe. Im Apartment waren große schwarze Käfer, besonders im Schlafzimmer. Die sind unten aus der Tür, die zur Garage führt, rausgekommen. Der Hausmeister kam und hat gesprüht, aber es war sehr unangenehm. Zudem kommt noch, dass in der Beschreibung wurde eine tolle Aussicht versprochen, wir haben aber nur ein Fleck Wasser gesehen.insgesamt enttäuschend.
