To be honest, I only used the hotel for a place to sleep, I didn't eat any meals nor use any of the facilities. I loved the location being close to a fabulous little surf shop and fabulous restaurant called Salt Surf and also Memories Beach Bar. The beach in front of Memories Beach Bar was great, wish I could have said the same for the beach in front of the hotel.
The hotel is not a 5-star. Further down Pakarang Beach is a JW Marriott, that definitely looked 5-star and the price reflects that. The nearby 4-star Apsara Hotel looked a bit nicer too, but again I think the price was a lot higher. So Grand Southsea is not a 5-star but also not priced like those nicer hotels, so I didn't feel too aggrieved. The beach in front of the hotel is a disappointment, so much rubbish and not looked after. So I went to the beach in front of Memories Beach Bar. No hotel beach at all. You can see the beach from the hotel beach-front rooms but there is a road and a small forest to look through to see the beach. The gardens were not very pretty and as I was at the end building, my view included an ugly building as well as the ugly gardens and road, forest and beach. The pool was a concerning colour of green when I arrived so it couldn't be used. By the next day it looked clearer but no lounge chairs to use, which I didn't mind because I was at the beach but I heard other people grumbling about.

Internet. Restaurant ontbijt ok maar menukaart s'avonds zeer beperkt waarvan de helft niet voorradig was.
