It was a super cool, out of the way place with some history behind it. I loved that it didn't feel like a hotel.
The only thing that was a slight drawback was finding staff for extra coffee, but then it wasn't a really big deal.

Have stayed here 6 years ago. Not much has changed, even met by same person on arrival. OK location for us, on our way from Mt Manganui to Northland. Comfortable Bed.
Small room, but bed was comfortable. Towels could do with a refresh.

Close quiet and convenient - hosts super friendly easy checkin
Clearly hot over Xmas - rooms with no aircon at that time of year is uncomfortable windows open and a fan doesn’t quite cut it

Loved the character of the building - kept alot of the old maternity hospital memorabilia. Lovely Grounds. Quiet and peaceful.
Small Teac TV and remote did not work properly - had staff to try and fix 3 times ...gave up in the end...
Curtains need a wash or replace.

The most value for money accommodation we have stayed in. Rooms are basic but have everything you need. We only stayed one night and it was perfect for our needs. Great wee seating area outside and you can park your car right outside your room. Would definitely stay here again.

Manor Views was originally the site of the Huntly Hospital and has been lovingly restored to accommodate guests. We stayed in a Lake View Room, very large, comfy light and airy room.
Nothing to comment

No sink. Having to wash dishes in handbasin

This venue started life as a maternity hospital from 1926 - 1996. The owners have done a wonderful job of renovating but kept so much of the original 'cool stuff'. Beautiful communal areas with large, comfortable seating areas and a dining area where you could bring your food own to enjoy. (No restaraunt on site)
Lovely positive affirmations throughout.
Not a lot to do in Huntly but if you get a chance a walk around Lake Hokonoa or Lake Puketirini are lively & easy for all fitness levels and the minors museum is very cool.
We would definitely come back.
The area is very quiet & safe.

It was in a quiet residential location
Wasn't clean, room did not get serviced I had to call when I returned at midnight after a long day for a clean towel.
Paid for 4 people per night - room facilities did not accommodate 4 people. Only 3 cups, plates, 2 towels provided etc

The view is incredible. The room catered for everything. Great outdoor access and deck from the room. Beautifully built gazebo on the property. Stunning sun lounge room. Victorian styled building
The noisey neighbor in the room next door as the walls and ceiling are somewhat thin

Views were lovely. Great night's sleep the bed was comfortable and I had everything I needed. Very peaceful and quiet. The parking was good, but could be an issue if really full. Nice to see an old building be appreciated and utilized in this way.
The standard room I was in is needing a spruce up. The towels were old and shabby and needed new ones.

We stayed here because I was enthralled by the historical aspect of the facility. It was nostalgic for me. The history of it having been a maternity hospital aptly resonated with me as the day we stayed, was my birthday, and regardless of me not being born here, I still felt at one with the place. It was also located away from the town centre so it was quiet, and you could see views of the Lake as the facility is on a hill. The room had a kitchenette with microwave which catered for our needs. The bathroom was a bit compact but it added to the nostalgia of when it was a maternity hospital. So my imagination was constantly thinking back in time! It was great to read the story of the hospital’s history provided in the book of information. We sat outside on the verandah soaking up the warmth of the sun while looking at the views of the Lake in the distance which I had walked around as a personal challenge earlier in the day. The gazebo and grassed area was another pleasant spot to take in more views of the lake, and I enjoyed walking around the grounds trying to imagine the separate quarters as they were when it was a hospital full of newborn babies. I would have liked to view the other rooms after reading how the accommodation was developed from the days of being a maternity hospital as it all sounded very intriguing to me.
It was hard to fill up the electric jug with water as it was too big for the basin in the bathroom, but I eventually found a way around it to be able to have a cup of tea.

Staff very friendly and helpful
Property is tired and drab, as was the studio unit, hot water took several minutes to heat up, not sink in kitchen which means you have to wash any dishes in the bathroom, towels and hand towel all frayed. Most frustrating of all was the TV kept shutting down, staff fixed 3 times, however it turned off at 9pm in the middle of a movie. I was disappointed I wasn't offered another room.
