    I was very disappointed with my recent stay at Merdeka Palace Hotel & Suites. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below what I expected from one of Kuching's well-known hotels. The first disappointment was the front desk service. During check-in, I was informed that my room was not yet ready. However, no one made any effort to notify or call me once it became available. I was left waiting without any updates, which was both inconvenient and frustrating. A simple follow-up would have demonstrated better customer service. Another major issue was the hotel's lift, which was not functioning properly. This made moving around the hotel difficult, especially for guests carrying luggage or travelling with family members. The guest room itself was also outdated and poorly maintained. The overall condition did not reflect the standard or quality I would expect from a hotel with such a long-standing reputation. The facilities clearly require refurbishment and better upkeep. Overall, I do not believe this hotel offers good value for money. There are many hotels in Kuching that are more affordable, cleaner, better maintained, and provide significantly better service. As one of Kuching's iconic hotels, Merdeka Palace Hotel & Suites has the opportunity to leave a positive first impression on both local and international visitors. Sadly, my experience did not reflect the warm hospitality and professionalism that Sarawak is known for. I sincerely hope the management takes guest feedback seriously and invests in improving its customer service, facilities, and overall guest experience.

    It's a good place to stay the night for an affordable, hotel environment. But keep in mind that this is an old hotel with some stains on the carpet and toilet wall. However, the environment is still clean.

    Disambut ramah oleh staff bertugas dan banyak membantu. Bilik besar tetapi karpet lusuh, tiada ventilator tandas dan mini bar.

    This is absolutely worse hotel for the money. The friendly receptionist made it clear that this hotel is absolutely below standard, so the guest cant complained about the conditions of the hotel. The undulating old smelly carpet along the hallway is an absolute health n safety hazard. Leaky ceiling n walls. The bathroom silicon all moldy. No bar fridge in the room. I had to go through 3 rooms to finally settle one which is only just ok, though the silicon joints still covered in mold. But its the best of the worst, in terms of the conditions of the room. The manager tried his best n I truly appreciate his services. The gym is closed permanently due to its broken floor n healthy and safety hazard state. The café staff were most unfriendly.
