Elite World Istanbul Taksim

The hotel is fabulous and their customer service is really good. Our room was lovely, large and on the quiet side of the hotel unfortunately due to hotel deep clean we had to move rooms. This meant packing up..inconvenient at the best of times. We did as requested and we were moved to a smaller room with single beds and one chair...we came from a queen bed and a sofa...the room was much worse so I pointed out the deficiencies and we were moved to another room. By now we were tired so we accepted the secod option room. It was not better than our original room however it was still nice and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. The only drawback was the new room was at the front of the hotel so was noisy...perfect for late night birds..we are early risers. However we managed. The hotel is lovely and the staff helpful. The key card needed updating daily.. don't know if that was a complaint from other guests or just our room! The breakfast had options galore with a long serving window. We ate a couple of times though we also went out for breakfast just for a change of scene. Breakfast with a view of the ocean was really where we preferred to eat. We walked to galataport most mornings for breakfast. We used the gym pool steam and sauna...all clean and topnotch. We also for the convenience had a turkish bath and a couple of massages at the hotel and whilst expensive we felt we got our money's worth. Overall I would return to this hotel and Istanbul fir another city break.

THE LOCATION AND THE FACILITIES WITHIN THE HOTEL. STAFF WERE WELL TRAINED. THE STAFF WERE ALSO GOOD IN COMMUNICATING CONSIDERING THE LANGUAGE BARRIER

THE ROOMS NEED TO BE CLEANED BETTER. SOMETIMES WE WOULD SEE CRUMBS AND DUST FROM THE DAY BEFORE, REALISTICALLY THIS IS ONE OF THE MAIN THINGS THAT NEEDS TO BE IMPROVED ON.

The hotel was beautiful and a very short walk from Taksim square and Istiklal Avenue. The breakfast was delightful too.

No air conditioning (AC). Our room was very warm throughout our stay with windows that could not be opened. This made our sleeps and time in the room very uncomfortable. We were told an engineer would come to have a look on the first night, but nobody came to fix it during our stay. Would stay again if given a room with AC or a window that could be opened.

Everything was great, and the staff were very polite and friendly. They also brought anything needed for the room very quickly.

I really liked the Turkish bath and the gym in the hotel, and everything was neat and clean.
