We had the family suite Rm No 2 and when we arrived the young girl was helpful with wifi but throughout our 5 night stay the Wifi was very unreliable. We tried the TV on one of our nights in, but it didn't work. The young lady once again was very good and had one of the staff tune the TV. asap. The place had an oven but there was no baking dish or oven mitt. There was also a washing machine but no washing detergent. There was also a dishwasher but as we only had 2 of everything including a cracked glass and no bowls which we also had to ask for in the sushi restaurant., we needed to wash the dishes after every meal. The only problem was they had not provided dishwashing detergent scourer, tea towel or anything to clean down the benches. We saw the owner by chance and asked for some dish washing detergent and her response was we only provide the basic apartment and expect the guests to buy the basics but then gave us a small glass of detergent when we said "when you are travelling for weeks we don't expect to go out and buy the basics when it is a fully self contained apartment". We have stayed in many apartments and AirB & B's around the world and Cihangir Residences was one of the most disappointing. You can only ask for so many things that should be included. This apartment also doesn't look like the photo as there was only 1 bedside table, the bedroom was much smaller and the glass shower door sounded as though it would drop off every time we closed the door. Maybe other apartments are better looked after. There were no instructions or any info on the apartment on where to leave the garbage or the key when we departed. There was a really nice bar and restaurant opposite called Mellow with nice staff but closing time for most bars and restaurants around us was 1:30am including the sushi place downstairs. The are double glazed windows but you can still hear the moving of chairs and tables and chains at this time. We have never written a bad review about any other accommodation we have stayed in but I think the owners need to lift their game quite a bit and not rely on their status on *** from 2022. The area has some good cafes and bars around but it is a 15 min walk down a steep hill to Tophane tram station and as it was 31-35 degrees while we were there we caught a taxi up the hill each time we went out exploring. Taksim was about a 15min walk away and fairly level. If you are looking for accommodation in Istanbul it is very hilly so stay somewhere down near the water, I would recommend Karakoy. On the upside the bed was reasonably comfortable.
