Welcome to Summer Paws, a beautifully maintained semi-oceanfront vacation home on the 4x4 beaches of Carova Beach, Northern Outer Banks, North Carolina. This 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath beach house sleeps 7 across three stories and 1,536 sq ft, featuring a private pool, hot tub, screened porch, and sweeping Atlantic views from three levels of wraparound decking. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is required — approximately 9 miles up the 4x4 beach. Three-night minimum stays available in spring and fall.
Bedrooms & Sleeping Arrangements
Three bedrooms sleep 7 guests: two queen bedrooms with flat screen smart TVs, plus a third bedroom with a duo-bunk featuring a double bottom bunk and twin top bunk — perfect for kids. Flat screen TVs in every bedroom and the living room keep everyone entertained on rainy days.
Private Pool, Hot Tub & Outdoor Spaces
Cool off in the private pool (open late May through end of September), soak in the hot tub, or relax on the screened porch while watching wild horses wander past. Three levels of decking provide stunning ocean views throughout. Outdoor amenities include a charcoal grill, outdoor shower, outdoor furniture, and five beach chairs. Two beach parking passes included.

Summer Paws sits in one of the most secluded stretches of the Northern Outer Banks, surrounded by wide open Atlantic shoreline and star-filled skies. The famous Corolla wild horses roam freely in this area and are frequently spotted near the property. No traffic, no crowds — just pure Carova Beach seclusion.

Summers Paws is a great rental. Slight ocean views from the top balcony. The screened in portion on top was great for the evening time. Rental was very clean and came equipped with everything that we needed for our stay. It is situated one row back from the beach, which, with being able to drive and park on the beach is not an issue at all. So handy to be able to load up the truck with beach gear and drive 1 minute to the beach. Carova cottages was fast to respond with any questions I had regarding our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing beach rental that is pet friendly. Our first time at Carova Beach and Summer Paws exceeded our expectations !
