Obviously the location of dreamsea is very beautiful, it is right on the beach and every room has a very pretty view. The aesthetic of the rooms is also nice.
Unfortunately i just don’t think the place is worth what we paid. It is quite expensive for a very small room and small bathroom, which wasn’t the most comfortable. I just think there is a lot nicer places to stay for the same price which are more spacious and clean.

Location, staff, food, room - all fantastic! Very memorable stay. Service and food exceptional. Stunning location. Beautiful view from room. Excellent surf lessons and Wayan’s yoga was excellent in a yoga shala sitting on the ocean.

The location is fantastic its like staying in a wooden boat literally over the ocean.
The staff are super friendly and helpful and the the food is great and reasonable priced with amazing views in the restaurant area.
Lots of vegan and healthy options, breakfast is included and was great advantage good value.
I had massages from Suki everyday it's set up in the yoga shaka deck which is amazing and she was excellent again good value compared to other places and it exceptional.
The Yoga deck with hammocks is great and the little cove below is good to swim in few places where you can get out without rocks.
They also have portors that will carry your luggage out for you which is a big help.
There are a few compromises you have to get in and out via steps that descend the cliff. Worth the effort for the location but in a long stay it might get a bit to much. The steps and stairs around the actual hotel are big and steep in places.
The little beaches do have rubbish it would be great if the hotel cleaned them but it seems standard in Bali that v this doesn't happen.
I had a shared twin room the terrace that you see is fab but shared and everyone access their room via it. So the glass doors onto the terrace from your room are fab for the views but do comprise your privacy. There are thick curtains that you can close though to get changed etc. I slept with the doors open and just the curtains shut as there was no AC in my room.
Also the shared toilets and showers are down some very steep steps and are located in the restaurant area. The only sink is outside so again if you're a hardy backpacker and not very sensitive it's fine I never had to wait to use them. But if your not comfortable coming out of the shower or brushing your teeth in public it might be a bit off putting.

It was a paradise. The rooms were so pretty and clean. The food was amazing at the restaurant and breakfast was included and was great too.
Wifi was a bit patchy.
There really was A LOT of stairs/steps so if you are not confident I would not recommend. I didn’t get to see any monkeys.

Location ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️, cute room , cute monkeys ! We had to climb down hundreds of steps to reach the hotel, which was actually not bad considering the porter service from the hotel. Very kind and helpful staff.
Stink in the hallway was overwhelming. Probably fish smell due to the ocean. But the view compensates for everything.
Not for people who can’t climb up and down. Beware!
Even to make a short trip outside , you’ll have to brave the stairs.

Very scenic views from the room of the sea. Loved being near the sea and having a swim when the tide is down. The beach is much more quieter than neighbouring ones. Breakfast was included and was good. The staff are friendly. I loved staying here I came back twice during my stay in Bali.
It is very popular lunch/dinner spot for people as well when they visit Uluwatu so having that very close by is amazing.
The stairs!!! Omg the stairs are an exercise every morning and afternoon going up and down. Not fun.
Nothing can be done about the stairs but not the easiest.
Also arriving late after dark etc can be scary not much lights after your dropped off etc. the sea at night gets violent so even scarier having to walk to the hotel.
Compared to other hotels it’s not very value for money.

liked the view and breakfast. stafff was friendly and helpful.
rooms were too small, very bad bathroom, hot water was not working, shower head was broken, and walls were paper thin built from bamboo sheets. you could literally hear everything from other rooms. and worst thing was the only way to reach this hotel is by climbing down 200 feets of stairs. which might not seems bad reading but it is way worse in Bali's hot weather and humidity. also lots of mosquitoes.

The pillows were a little uncomfortable, but fine.

The view is good and the breakfast is good too
I don’t usually give any negative comments but this hotel is beyond my tolerance.
First when I arrived, I couldn’t find the luggage guy so I have to carry my heavy checked luggage all the way down from the cliff to the hotel which is actually pretty dangerous. There is no sign or way to contact the hotel.
Secondly the receptionist is also not doing his job. He didn’t greet me, but also he didn’t even talk to me at all. He just shared his screen with things he need to tell me and let me read. His condescending altitude makes it worse when I asked questions.
Last but not the least, when checking out, I need a luggage guy to help me carry the luggage to the top and the staff asked me to wait on the top. But 30mins had passed and I still can’t see my luggage. So I have to walk up and down in the long stars again to find what is going on. When the staff finally bring my luggage, he is rude as hell feeling like I was begging for his help. This problem caused me almost miss my flight and standing in the rain for so long that I end up having a fever ruining the rest of the trip.

I loved this little room on the clifftop.! The view was spectacular, the room had everything I needed. The bed was super comfortable. The food was delicious and well priced. I booked an extra night.
Reception booked and paid for my taxi for the harbor at reception, but the driver did not show up on time. There was no one to help me carry my bags up all the steps. when I got to the top the driver was just standing there smoking like all the other staff, I left 40 minutes after I was supposed to and was late for my ferry. The staff at the top area are lazy and looked so bored.

Location was nice and staff were ok
Stayed for 2 nights got a total of 18 mosquito bites, there were animals (maybe a rat) in the ceiling scurrying around. Holes in the walls. Dirty room and big gaps in the door so insects / other wildlife easily access the room at night. Aircon leaked all over my clothes and linen was dirty.

Loved the atmosphere and surrounding of the property right next to the beach. Felt like living dream. If you love the sea and sea breeze and the sound it like a meditation to stay here.
The staff is really helpful. The atmosphere. And the food. Food was amazing!

This property is extremely difficult to access, with around 200 steep, uneven steps just to get in and out. Once you’re inside, you certainly won’t feel like going out again. Unfortunately, the staff did not offer any help with carrying luggage down the stairs, which made the experience even more challenging.
The walk to the rooms and the restaurant is also steep and slippery. The doors to the rooms do not shut properly. There is no option to purchase bottled water on-site, and the menu is very limited.
The steps leading to the rooms are horrendous, and the balcony felt unstable and rotten—as if you might fall through it. Overall, the property needs significant improvements. I would not recommend staying here.

Loved being on the ocean and set away from the busy main strip of businesses. Delicious food and wonderful staff.
Being set away also required climbing 194 steps up and down each time we wanted to leave to go anywhere. The room was very rustic with danger of moneys requiring doors to stay shut.

The view
1. You cannot enter or leave the hotel whenever you want. Due to the tides, the water level rises at certain hours, and the path after the stairs becomes very dangerous. They warn you a day in advance about the tide schedule.
2. The rooms have an overwhelming mold smell everywhere. This smell has also penetrated all the wooden furniture. We couldn’t use the wardrobe because of it. When we asked, they told us all the rooms were like this. We had to buy a room spray and use it regularly to mask the smell.
3. There are no amenities in the rooms. Only soap and shampoo are provided, nothing else. No hairdryer, no kettle, etc.
4. You need to pass through a road to reach the hotel. This road is pitch dark at night. When it rains, it forms large puddles, making it impossible to walk. You can only get through with a scooter.
5. The stairway down to the hotel is not really the problem, we booked knowing about that. The real issue is the uneven stairs inside the hotel. They are slippery, all different sizes, and dangerous.
6. The bamboo walls of the rooms are extremely thin. You can hear everything

Everything is absolutely great especially the staff and location. The restaurant is so handy as well, breakfast & all of the Indonesian dishes were delicious. Great coffee and smoothies too.
The beds aren’t comfortable and it’s very difficult to sleep because when the waves hit the whole building shakes and it is really noisy. It is worth sacrificing the sleep for the location and staff though. Would stay here again and as soon as I checked out I wanted to go back!

The vieuw from the room was nice.
I did not like that the add on booking.com does not mention this place is not easily accecable. The place has 200+ steepstairs to get to. And moving around the hotel is also a challange. The walls are paper, aircon does not work properly and the beds are bad.

The views were amazing. It was a unique experience being so close to the monkeys every morning. The food was also great.
The staircase to get to the hotel was super stressful. I wasn’t aware of it before my stay. If you’re prepared for that, it’s defineitly worth it.

Not sure what people are complaining about in the reviews. This is a cliff hotel ON the ocean in Uluwatu. The hotel is on the sea level, meaning that you have to go down the equivalent of 4 floors on a concrete staircase, so pack light. The concrete stair is at the end of a cul de sac road, but we had no issues getting pickup/dropped off there. There is a dry passage for when the tide is high (and the beach is flooded). When the tide is low you can walk to Padang Padang beach and go up from that staircase with slightly less steps. This is not a luxury resort, but everything is clean and comfortable and the staff is sweet and attentive. Since the hotel is on a cliff you need to (slightly irregular) steps from the rooms to the restaurant. Restaurant offers western and "whitewashed" eastern options. Rooms cleaned daily and drinking water provided ad libitum. AC, mosquito nets, power sockets, comfy beds. The bamboo walls are thin but nothing unlike an old building in Europe. The monkeys will visit your balcony in search for food. There is option for yoga class, surf class and massages. The view is insane, the sound of the crashing waves is insane. I would go back and stay there a whole month if I could.
A kettle in the room would be a nice addition. Pricey but worth it.

Location was exceptional
Rooms were tired. Water pressure worst I've experienced in Bali.
Beds were horrible and uncomfortable
Breakfast was bland and limited.
For the cost of the rooms, having to pay extra for a juice and coffee for breakfast is poor service
Stairs are a nightmare.

Beautiful location! Incredible breakfast
Poor WiFi connection and lots of steps to get down to property. (I was suffering with Bali belly so had very low energy and didn’t expect the trek down!)

Insane breath taking view on the sea. Very cute facilities in a surfer /natural style. The hotel is very close to Uluwattu famous beaches less than 10min away from grab.
The bathroom water sometimes smell bad but it is common with properties close to the beach.

I absolutely adored my stay at Dreamsea. The duplex room exceeded my expectations and I loved the fact I could watch the ocean from my bed!
The staff are very friendly and the food was so tasty. My favourite place I've ever stayed in!
The only issue I had was a leaking toilet, but this was quickly resolved by the staff, it was like it never happened

The view is incredible and the beach is right on your door step and staff were very friendly.
The room was smaller then expected and the bathroom was tiny and always smelt damp. The aircon in our room also made very loud noises all night and didn’t keep our room very cool. The rooms also aren’t soundproof at all could hear the people next door very well. The restaurant was very average we had breakfast included and it was ok and we dined at the restaurant for other meals and it wasn’t great. I wouldn’t recommend. The stairs… it wasn’t just the stairs down to the beach there was a lot of narrow stairs and a ladder to get to our room which I didn’t expect. Just be prepared for them!

Stellar views! Absolutely stunning! You wake up to a magnificent view….these are moments you live for!
We signed up for a yoga session which was absolutely worth it! The Yoga Shala faces the ocean which is heavenly and the session was great!
I am definitely returning to Uluwatu ( on my top 3 favourite destinations), but not to DreamSea.There wasn’t anything great about the property besides the views. It’s more of a surfers camp as opposed to a leisure property.
Besides the 200 normal steps that takes you to the perimeter of the property, there’s another bunch of some really steep stairs…..not ideal if you are unfit or even if you have the slightest sore or sprain to your limbs. Once you get here, you are stuck and you would think twice to get out of the property to explore the beautiful town just because of those steps you got to climb! Basically, you want to plan your day so you can ascend and descend once a day. Forget it if you are bringing kids along.
Our room had a private bathroom but that was namesake! There was little or no water in the showers or at the sink! Absolute disaster!

The view from the room was great, directly facing out into the sea with views of the surfers trying to catch a wave. The trade off of this, however, is the trek up and down the massive staircase to get to and from the hotel. Be prepared to be a sweaty mess anytime you leave the hotel - but to be fair it’s only about a 5 min climb up (without luggage) even with some stops to catch your breath.
Free breakfast was from the main restaurant menu - a nice change from other hotels who offer only a condensed and basic version when breakfast is included. Just be aware that monkeys often do visit, and you have to be vigilant with your food and belongings. We even saw some monkeys steal an unlucky customer’s breakfast, and they like to run across the roof in the mornings.
Was able to arrange a motorbike directly from the hotel which made travelling around the area very convenient. Bear in mind that the staircase to the hotel is located a bit inward from the main road, and the path is not lit up at night, so walking might be a bit of a challenge. We had no issues being able to get a grab car though, when we were leaving the hotel, and no issues with drop off.
Poorly constructed rooms, the sliding doors opening out to the sea views had gaps and weren’t secure. The construction of the hotel also means it’s not very sound proof so be prepared to hear voices from neighbouring rooms. They try to mitigate this by requesting that everyone be mindful of making too much noise between certain hours but depends on whether your neighbours comply! On the other hand, hope you also enjoy the very loud sound of waves crashing all night. If you’re a light sleeper then I wouldn’t necessarily recommend you stay overnight!
Slightly weird smell in the room, and it didn’t feel like the rug in the room had been cleaned in a long time. Ventilation in the bathroom wasn’t great. One morning we woke up to a dying cockroach near the edge of the bed, the only instance across our travels in Bali.
The restaurant area seems to be a bit understaffed. We ran into a few instances where we waited a long time to have our orders taken and to receive our food.

The staff was lovely, great and friendly, the view from the room was unforgettable
It is very difficult to get there or get out of there, the cellular reception is weak and the WIFI is not good too, it is a pretty overfracised place

You pay for the gorgeous view, staying right on the beach, it’s absolutely divine! The staff are so lovely also.
Be aware you have to walk on a lot of steep stairs.
The only access to the beach is during low tide and it’s very rocky, best to have some water shoes!

It was amazing, the scenery, the staff, the food, you could just go for a dip to cool off or grab and surfboard and head out for a surf. Oh and the monkeys, they made the whole experience.
The steps but that’s only cause I’m unfit. It was so worth the hike up and down
7.0 / 10.0
It’s a really quiet little haven, on its own private beach, super nice restaurant and amazing views. Rooms are super comfortable and clean.
I wouldn’t describe this as a surf camp. It’s a hotel. Was a bit disappointed, as I’d stayed at the one in Anghama in Sri Lanka and that was an amazing camp experience where you got to know people and there was a social host and the staff were just super friendly and got to know you. Coming here on my own I was expecting similar and it just wasn’t like that at all. Even the surf sessions, it was good but just on my own and once a day. Plus the paddle out is far! Was glad I was meeting up with some people who I met in Sri Lanka because otherwise I would have met no one and been super lonely. Also I was fine with it because I knew in advance, but if you can’t walk far/do stairs this is really not the place for you.
