Cozy, clean abd comfortable

Both apartments were clean, cute, cozy and comfortable. We liked that we were able to cook breakfast and that there was coffee readily available.

It was a bit of a challenge to find where the keys were, maybe more so because it was already dark when we arrived driving from Paris. The driveway was also quite narrow so it wasn't easy bringing down luggage from the van, as we could only park it by the gate. Other than those, we had a great 2-night stay in Givernel.

Okay for one night.

For one night, it’s a decent place to stay and it’s within walking distance of Monet’s house and the Museum of Impressionism. In the photos, it definitely looks much cozier and newer than it is in reality.

A very strong, loud and unpleasant automatic air freshener in the hallway, and the bathroom is located inside one of the bedrooms, which isn’t very convenient for all guests.

This was a frustrating and unpleasant experience.

1.Even after the official check-in time, we still hadn’t received the lockbox code, and the host was completely unreachable. We tried everything — sent messages through Booking.com (no reply), WhatsApp messages (no reply), even made WhatsApp calls (no answer). In the end, we had to make an expensive international phone call just to get the entry code. That was really stressful after a long journey. 2.The apartment is quite old and worn out, with several things already damaged. Some doors were hard to open or close, and overall, it just didn’t match the high price we paid. 3.The cabinet door was already broken when we arrived, yet after checkout the host accused us of removing the hinges — which is ridiculous. That would require real effort and tools! We’ve been using Booking.com for over ten years and have stayed in hundreds of places, and this is the first time we’ve ever been falsely accused and personally insulted by a host. It was extremely upsetting and disappointing. 4.The only shower is inside one of the bedrooms, which is very inconvenient. It meant we had to walk through another person’s room just to take a shower — something that really shouldn’t happen in a place at this price level.

Lovely apartment close to Monet's Garden.

The property is in a great location, near Monet's garden. The place was very clean and comfortable, we had a great stay.

The shower is located off the 2nd bedroom - a little bit weird, but fine.

Dissapointing

There was no breakfast and very few supplies to make tea or coffee.

The only good aspect of this this property was the proximity to Monets garden at Giverny. I was disappointed when we entered and the the accomodation smelt strongly of must and mould. THe accomodation seems to be an old barn. The smell and must need addressing as clients should not be expected to sleep in it. Which we had to as we had no choice. Accomodation though still smelt like an old building and I felt unhealthy staying there and coughed all night. The bed was made up with 6 pillows. 2 had clean pillow cases but the other 4 did not. One was not clean and smelt like unwashed hair. There was very little in the way of welcome goods. Ie no milk in the fridge.Towels were old and needed renewing. All in all the host needs to make an effort to attract visitors.

Nice place close to Monet's Gardens

It was a great location and the rooms were a nice size. there was a small refrigerator which was used.the beds were comfortable and good pillows

It was hot and they only had two small fans. the stairs were a bit steep and only one toilet.

For a one night stay it is ok, but it would be too noisy to stay for any length of time.

There were 2 bedrooms nicely decorated and the kitchen area had plenty of equipment. The TV had Netflix so that you could sign in with your own details or use theirs (in French).

The property is directly on a main road which was busy and very noisy at night. Fast cars racing at 4.00am! Drunks out shouting on the street at 2.00am! The toilet was separate from the shower room and away from the bedrooms. Car parking was available but the access was very tight when you have a car bigger than a small saloon. This is the first time we have ever been left a message to strip the beds on our departure. Surely this is unhygenic as the host doesn't know if the guests have clean hands when handling the duvets, pillows, etc! We also did not get to meet the hosts and had to ring them to get the number to the key box as it did not arrive in our booking.com account until quite some time after we had arrived.

Fine option for one night with Monet’s Gardens just a short stroll away

Terrific location, within easy walking distance to Monet Gardens. Very good shower. We wanted a two bedroom arrangement, which Givernel offered.

Bedding in both rooms was a heavy-ish duvet without a single sheet so on a warm night (which ours turned out to be) you either had to try to sleep uncovered or under something too warm. Only one bedroom had a fan. Trash from prior guests had not been emptied (not a big deal, but details matter). No body wash in shower (most people don’t travel with soap)

Giver my gardens great. Givernel apartments poorly managed

Not much, location ok

Owner very difficult to contact. Instructions for key box mentioned a white door, not a red garage door. Tried for over an hour to contact Alice on phone and via text and email. Does not even bother to answer her phone at a time when she knows guests are coming that have already paid. If we had not already paid we would’ve gone somewhere else.

Location was great. Beds were comfortable. Plenty hot water.

Extractor didn’t work, nor heated towel rail, bathroom ran with condensation. It could have been much cleaner. Very noisy when people were upstairs! Lots of road noise. No local information provided. No oven, only a small microwave.

A pleasant and confortable stay in a very convenient location.

Beds very comfortable and bedrooms nicely decorated. Heaters worked great and kept us cozy on a chilly night. Nice location for visiting Monet’s house and garden. We had everything we needed.

Approach to the parking spaces in back was tight and at an odd angle and took some careful maneuvering to get our car in safely.

Amazing communication with Valérie and her husband. They were both super helpful and friendly. We ask for an iron, it was brought to us within an hour.

Be mindful that there are 2 flats, one above the other. We stayed on the ground floor. I believe photos are not of the one we stayed in. Everything went well, we liked it, the description was accurate etc, but we were a bit surprised at first.

Wierdly, the ensuite bathroom didn’t have a toilet for some reason and the toilet was situated in the laundry room which had a tiny basin. It just wasn’t very convenient as we were two friends staying in delegate bedrooms. It was a little bit dark & damp smelling I’m afraid. probably better to visit in the summer No milk or anything left for us. there’s no shop in the village so we couldn’t really make a decent cup of tea it was all ok though. we were only there a night

Great place to stay to visit Monet’s Garden and to enjoy Giverny. Good places to eat very nearby.

The property was ideal for our needs and we loved being just that little bit away from the crowded centre of Giverny. The village itself and the churchyard are well worth visiting and don't miss the bakery near the church. It is open early, even on a Sunday.

Superb

Nice, romantic place, well-equipped. The host was very polite and helpful and speaks English. We arrived late and she advice to go to a restaurant next door - nice Micheline restaurant. It is a small village and everything is 5min way - Monet house and gardens and the Museum of expressionists. Nice galeries, cafes and restaurants, romantic and full of colour!

Charming

Quaint with amenities! We stayed in the upstairs 2 bedroom, 2 bath (1 toilet) apartment. Spacious. Comfortable beds. Easy access to Monet’s house and garden. Just off the main road to Giverny, parking is behind the building. Valerie was very gracious. Answered email quickly and was onsite to give us the keys when we arrived. She even arranged champagne for my birthday at my husband’s request! We had a lovely stay.

A charming apartment in the heart of Giverny!

It was a delightful apartment, with lovely decor and in a old stone house.....just down the street from the Monet house and gardens. We stayed 2 nights and loved the place. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were even basic condiments like olive oil and vinegar. It has been completely renovated inside with great furniture and art works. The host, Valerie, was charming and very helpful with information on the house and the area. We will highly recommend this apartment! The price for this 2 bedroom apartment was good value for money.
