About this cottage rental
El Empecinado Rural House is a house or mansion from the early sixteenth century, highlighting in its facade a semicircular arch, masonry walls, 12 gates jailers, three of them with beautiful figures of fish. It is a three-storey building completely restored following the guidelines of traditional architecture in stone and wood.
It has 9 rooms (all with bathroom and heating), seven of them doubles, other two suite type (equipped with sofa, desk, extra bed, without forgetting its amplitude and decoration. It has two very large rooms, one used as a dining room and the other with a fireplace for resting, reading room, gatherings, work meetings etc ...
During the reign of Felipe II, the nearby Ducal village of Pastrana had a great cultural, economic ... etc, and Fuentelviejo was within the route that linked Pastrana with Madrid and Guadalajara, and it is at this time where important personalities pass for the people like Santa Teresa, the Princess of Éboli, Ruy de Silva, the Counts of Tendilla ... The rural house served as a hostel during these years, due to its size and location.
During the War of Independence, Fuentelviejo was known as the Watchtower of the Empecinado, since from this villa José Martín Diez carried out numerous operations to expel the French, one of the lieutenants, José Nondedeu, closely related in Fuentelviejo helped him in different campaigns such as of the "Zulema bridge" where he liberated the city of Alcalá de Henares; It was this house guerrilla headquarters, reason why the house gets its name.

Hemos estado en el puente de diciembre, casa espectacular para grupo de amigos, éramos 18 personas. Muy recomendable, muy espaciosa, fenomenal.

Disfrutamos de la Nochebuena en familia en el alojamiento y la experiencia resultó del todo grata. La casa es enorme y está bien equipada, mucho mejor que en las fotos de la web que, sinceramente, no le hacen justicia. Estancias espaciosas, cómodas y agradables, con una decoración acorde al tipo de casona que es.
El trato dispensado por las propietarias fue muy bueno, habiendo dejado incluso magdalenas como obsequio para desayunar. Los detalles los cuidan bastante, siendo un ejemplo de ello que en los baños había bolsitas de gel, champú y jabones como en los hoteles.
El pueblo es pequeño pero muy tranquilo, limpio y coqueto. Tiene parajes curiosos para dar un paseo por ellos.
Cerca de él se localizan Pastrana y Horche, los cuales merecen una visita en el caso de contar con tiempo para ello, existiendo en la casa información turística sobre ellos.
Sin duda ha sido una buena experiencia, por lo que es un sitio tanto para volver como para recomendar.

Ha sido un fin de semana especial entre amigos por varios motivos.
La casa es genial e ideal para grupos por su amplitud y la comodidad de tener un baño en cada habitación que es un punto extra, sin duda. Esta totalmente equipada y a destacar la limpieza y decoración con todo tipo de comodidades.
Es un pueblo pequeño y tranquilo en un entorno maravilloso e ideal para pasear con los mas pequeños.
Virginia, la propietaria, es encantadora y muy atenta.
Recomendable 100%. Seguro que volveremos.

La casa se encuentra en un pueblecito pequeño muy tranquilo. Es un caserón antiguo en la misma plaza del pueblo. Todas las habitaciones tienen su baño y son muy amplias igual que los 2 salones. Todo está muy cuidado y bien equipado (chimeneas, radiadores, utensilios cocina, baños). En la plaza del pueblo hay un frontón donde los niños pueden jugar sin problema. Las propietarias, Mari y Virginia, fueron muy amables y dispuestas a aclarar cualquier duda y hacer lo necesario para que la estancia fuera de nuestro agrado. Se pueden hacer excursiones por los pueblos de la Alcarria. Repetiremos
