Far better than I dreamed it could possibly be

If you like peace and quiet with quality accommodation then don’t pass this place by. Nicola and Kerry are wonderful down to earth hosts who run an exceptionally clean and very comfortable establishment. Everything about the room and en suite was perfect, from the very generous snacks put out for you to the dressing gowns, towels and slippers available for use and the breakfast is just wonderful. I given Nicola and Kerry 10 out of 10 for everything only because Booking.com don’t allow me to give them a higher score.

1. The room was amazing! We booked a twin room and not only did we get a room with two comfortable beds, there was an attached sitting room with little snacks provided as well as the usual tea and coffee! Wonderful big shower too. 2. The personal touches regarding the decor were lovely; little knick-knacks that were fun and quirky. 3. Breakfast was gorgeous, cooked to order and delicious. 4. The proprietor was lovely and helpful, giving us local information and making us feel at ease throughout the stay.

We only booked for one night! Would have loved to have stayed longer!

Beautiful views out over Dartmoor, Breakfast was superb, lots of choice. Bedroom was immaculate, nicely appointed with many little considerate additional items such as plates, knives and forks should you bring back food. Really appreciate the Ferrero Roche, Twix and Biscoff with the tea making facilities, Nikki really is an excellent host.

A very quiet, peaceful location. I wish we booked for longer. Nicola and Kerry are wonderful hosts. Very welcoming and helpful. Great communication. The room has so many extras that we were not expecting. The most comfortable bed and an amazing shower. The views out of the window was breath taking. The breakfast was first class and beautifully presented. Parking out the front. Loved meeting Dash and Dude, gorgeous personalities and so cute.

Beautiful location with great hosts. Wonderful views and we loved watching the birds in the garden. Nicola was really accommodating with early our early check in as we were going to a wedding nearby. The breakfast was delicious.

A very comfortable overnight stay which exceeded our expectations

The location of the property was very peaceful and welcoming. The rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable, well equipped, with every need provided for. Breakfast was of the highest quality and was served in a very appealing breakfast room, with enchanting views over the garden and the surrounding countryside.

Super clean and a very comfy bed. Lovely shower and the cooked breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a hotel and I travel a lot! Great touch in the room with chocolate, crisps and other various snacks. And what a lovely welcome on arrival. Will definitely visit again.

Exceptional

We enjoyed our time there so much. Nicola and her husband were very welcoming, it all felt more like visiting friends than staying in anonymous accommodation. The room amenities are sensational, there are bathrobes, slippers, shampoo, shower gel, cream etc all available, as well as a super lovely set of snacks and teas. We especially liked the heat lamp in the shower. For breakfast you should bring some time, because Nicola prepares it fresh every morning (according to the choice you made the night before) and together with her husband takes the time to talk with the guests. The location is a very good base for touring Dartmoor. This was the best place to stay on our travels around England and if we ever find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely stay here again.

It could be a little cleaner in the bath (dust, spiders). I was a little cold, but I freeze easily and if I had asked if the heating could be turned on, Nicola would have done it for sure, so it's my own fault (heaters are in the room and in the bath).
