Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort - Green Luxury Escape

The location is nice - on the river, near the beach and not too far from town. The staff tried hard to resolve our issues. The garden bits are nice.

The pool is a disgrace. The flooring around it is all broken and buckling - a big health hazard especially for children, and there were loose electrical wires from one of the lights just floating around too. We said we didn’t think it was safe, and the staff admitted it was due to be closed for renovations but they said they couldn’t offer a refund. They moved us to the presidential suite, which is huge but utterly bizarre (the toilet is a cubicle in the bedroom). The bar was never staffed. The restaurant way overpriced. And just generally the facilities are more like 3 star. It feels way too small for the number of guests. Very disappointing and felt ripped off.

Wonderful place, super comfortable, beautiful staff that checked in with us each morning to see how we were. Very helpful as well. Beautiful hotel facilities, breakfast was absolutely fantastic as well.

Honestly nothing to dislike- it's not in the middle of Hoi An which may be inconvenient for some but my husband and I were easily able to get grabs in and out of the main areas ☺️

The property is super nice, very well maintained, lots of greeneries, the pool was amazing, the staff is just so great and they do everything to help you, to answer your questions and provide information. They helped us plan our visit to My Son. The free shuttle is great to get to and from Hoi An old town. The best beach to go to is An Bang and it is a short Grab away from the hotel. You can even get bikes for free to go bike around.

Nothing, I would go back and spend more time

Sen (Customer Service Manager) was amazing, an absolute asset to the hotel and without her desire to solve problems, her friendliness and great attitude we would have checked out. The sea salt ozone pool is lovely, and kids could spend hours in it as there were some shady spots under the pool cabanas, however there are issues that require urgent resolution. The massage at the spa was the best I have had in a long time, a delightful experience - highly recommend! Breakfast was pretty good with a nice array of options, but when we were there the aircon was broken so it was super hot! Nice touch to put easel with pencils and paper for the kids

The pool is in desperate need of repairs - 3 of 4 children cut their feet quite badly while swimming (either from something in the pool, the numerous chipped/broken pool tiles or the degraded matting on the deck) and staff accidentally acknowledged that this happens quite often. There are also only a few sun loungers with mattresses - and when we asked for more on the wooden ones, they said they didn’t have any which was not very comfortable when trying to relax. During room changeover, all our bags were left unattended at reception for the day (rather than safely in luggage store) and the responses from reception staff was rude. However credit to Sen for managing this to an amicable situation. Do not recommend the 2 bedroom with river/pool with bath room - it was small and pokey with a very damp smell. Garden rooms were the pick, or deluxe with pool/river view (minus the awful shower curtain)! Kids area is very small and underwhelming. It appears that the resort has recently been sold and the new owners have plans for renovation/redevelopment, so there appears to be limited investment in fixing things at the moment.
