Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat

The location was gorgeous from my window I could see the Sea. The only problem was the WiFi. It didn't work which was a major inconvenience when it didn't restart until the day before I left.

They really need to get a better WiFi system in the lodge. For the first day it was fine, then went down. The people were nice about it though.

The Lodge was a good size, nice walks to the beach but you do need a car for anywhere else. Would benefit from a restaurant. Overall a lovely stay

We had booked the lodge as it stated it had a hot tub but when we arrived there wasn't one. We spoke to reception & Hoeseasons & they both said it was the fault of Booking.com. We have spoken to customer support & they are sorting some sort of compensation

A lovely location and lodges had everything you needed. Was clean and comfortable.

Overall a nice cabin and mattress was excellent, but it did look quite new. No waterproof covers on it to keep it clean, so over time, maybe not so clean?? Our cabin was clean apart from the ant infestation. Convenient for the wootton/newport, newport/merstone, newport/cowes and wootton/ryde Sections of the Red Squirrel Trail. We did get a good deal/price for a cabin, but this was cancelled out by the very high return ferry costs.

Stayed 29/6 to 3/7/26 when we experienced a wild fire along the Red Squirrel Trail, so having wild campers (or homeless people) camping in the trees off the beach and lighting fires was a bit concerning. Also parties at night. The beach area at low tide looks grim. The resort is infested with ants (according to their own leaflet in the cabin) and running all through our cabin. The TV is not reprogramable, with mainly only the 1980s garbage old 4 woke channels. No streaming channels and no GB NEWS. The two settees were very uncomfortable. Too upright to relax on. The property smelled heavily of garlic, not great, but we put up with it by opening all the doors etc.
