Was very rustic, in a rural setting, close to all amenities. My hubby and kids stayed in the cabins with friends in the others, I stayed din the hotel as I wanted to be somewhere without a shared bathroom. They were extremely short staffed, one man to check in and check out, hold down reception, he was also the bar keep, the waiter, the cook and server!!!! With all that he still went to change a broken heater in our friends cabin, and find them more towels, he was Pitlochry superman. He deserves a damn raise
No kids area, restraunt didn't feel family orientated.

Friendly and helpful staff. Cabin was clean and we had a heater and bedding provided.
The toilets are in need of refurbishment. Only one was working in each of the ladies inside and both of them did not flush properly. Did not attempt to use the outside ones.

The view is stunning and the cabins feel like a magical place
Toilets were slightly further on which was a bit scary to go over when the middle of the night, the Bothy bar was cold but I think they had an issue with the delivery of wood for the fire

The location of the property is amazing, with stunning views of Kinlochleven and a short walk from the village and amenities. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The bar/restaurant was good value for money. Check in and check out was very quick and easy process too. We originally booked a cabin which had many issues (maybe due to the time of year), we spoke with a member of staff and he quickly helped us enjoy our stay by providing us with a room without extra charge which was very nice of him.
Our cabin was extremely cold with signs of damp/mould showing in the wood. We were provided with a very small damaged heater which couldn’t provide adequate heating to warm the hut up. As a result of this the bedding was damp.

Pods were a bit run down
Heater didn’t work properly, so we had to request extra heating. Door wet, mouldy and didn’t close. Shower and toilet area could do with an upgrade

The location, at the head of Loch Leven was exceptional. The views out over the loch were really impressive.
The communal kitchen/cooking facilities were very poor in my opinion. I didn’t see any pots or pans located in that wee shed to allow anyone to cook their own food. Speaking to the staff about this, they said it’s because people steal the items. A deposit system could be sorted for guests “ to hire” cooking items, then deposit returned once those items are returned back to a member of staff.
Also, some better nighttime lighting would be a good idea for anyone walking from the shower block, over the small access bridge, to the main group of cabins. There was no lighting to allow to see that route properly, I had to use the torch on my phone .

It was value for money. The heater in the cabin really got it warm and comfortable, and the shower in the shower unit may have been a bit compact but it was one of the best shower I have been in during my trips, there was plenty of hot water and it was powerful 👌
The lack of WiFi in the cabin was the only downside I came across.

The beds were comfortable and the cabin was warm. There are great views from the property! I just wish it had been a little cleaner.
The cabins, toilets and showers could have been cleaner. The cabins had mould and floors needed mopped. The shower room floors were flooded with nothing around to dry them.

Only good thing is the nature, nothing about the property.
Very bad customer service. The guy in goggles was nice. The property was in pitch dark and there was no light in the walk ways.
I slipped and fell because I can barely see around. We have to use our phone flash to walk upto the shower room and washrooms. We were disappointed with the stay.

Our cabin was infested with bedgugs. They have not refunded us for our stay even though we were informed we would recieve a full refund by them and booking.com. They asked me for all my card details include the 3 digits on the back instead of refunding us through booking.com. They have ignored all attempts booking.com have made to rectify the situation. Booking.com have said they cannot do anything and will not conpensate us. Booking.com will do nothing to rectify the situation. Do not book this accommodation.

I liked that I only booked one night not two
N arrival the reception just gave me the key and said my cabin number no directions nothing so I had to find it in the dark, I would advise that you get some kind of lighting and signs to direct people where things are as it was had to navigate in total darkness I nearly ended up in the river.
The room was extremely small. The bunk beds very uncomfortable and spring sticking up. Couldn’t even sit up in them they were that small.
Whoever made the beds twisted the duvet inside so had to fix that myself.
Lighting in the rooms was very poor.
The wheels on the radiator was broke so only two so it wobbled weird.
The blind was broke and as I tried to close it it fell off so I had to fix it.
I used the microwave but the inside plate and wheel are broke so my food cooked bad.
I arrived at 9 oclock and the restaurant and bar was both closed which after 6 hours driving I was really looking forward to food and a drink but no so I hd to drive to the coop nearby
The cabins are very thin so I could hear conversations from the cabins next to me.
The sight is dog friendly so maybe some bins for dog poo bags would be great too. That being said I don’t think saw any bins.
I only found the toilet in the morning as nothing was sign posted. And I actually saw one gentleman taking a wee at the side of his cabin assuming he didn’t know where the toilets where located either.

Lovely location with excellent views. We stayed in a comfortable, clean cabin and enjoyed the good facilities. Lovely hot showers and friendly staff.
Perfect accommodation after a long walk on the west highland way.
The restaurant in the hotel - I had only a Cullen Skink soup (that didn’t taste fresh) and ended up with a very bad stomach that night and the following day. My biggest issue with the place.
Communal areas could definitely be cleaner and it’s slightly pricey but these aren’t major complaints.

Not sure why this place is rated so low. It's a cabin, so you obviously shouldn't be booking this expecting a hotel. Yes, the toilets/showers are a 30 second walk from the cabins. But the cabin and toilets/showers are clean, warm and the value is unbeatable. Check out the morning view of the surrounding area, it's beautiful! My friends and I enjoyed our stay here so honestly if you aren't picky, don't mind the low reviews. It's really fine.
The shower is clean enough, but just a simple change of the slightly moldy bathroom curtains would make it look much cleaner.

We were walking the West Highland Way. The cabin was very clean and tidy. All the facilities were excellent. All the essentials were provided.
A very comfortable mattress. Set in a beautiful location.
It isn't really a not like but the path from the cabins over the stream to the toilet block would benefit in lighting. There is a solar light but obviously the time of year didnt generate enough to power it.
5.0 / 10.0
Staff very friendly and helpful. Glad of a bed with clean sheets. Shower and hot meal after a long day walking The West highland way.
Cabin over priced. No hooks, shelves. The bin was a bin liner on the floor. No actual bin. Cabin floor could have done with more of a clean. Bits of debris on floor. Shower and toilet block and kitchen blocks in need of up dating. Shower hard to get temperature right. Either extremely hot or cold.

Warm showers
This high prices can only be asked because of the location. Facilities are primitive and have a dirty look/feel, which is probably the result of it just not looking done. Mattresses in the cabin I had were just old and beaten up. The owners clearly never use their own hotel/cabin to test the “high standards” they want to uphold to.

The location was the only good thing
The cabins were poorly maintained, with untidy floors and doors that wouldn’t close properly. The severe midge problem made the experience even worse. It became impossible to stay in the cabin, so we had to request a room in the hotel instead. We were offered a hotel room, but only at an additional cost of £61.50.
A big room, part refurbished but lacked some essential things
2.0 / 10.0
Breakfast option was £12.50, no thank you!
Glorified shed!
Bedding was very poor quality.
Furniture very dated.
Facilities were dirty, looked like they had not been cleaned for some time.
Facilities were broken, e.g. no handle on the tap in the shower room so couldn’t use the tap.
Hand rails to the shower block falling apart, very dangerous.
No lighting when dark, very dangerous.
No alternative toilet option as the ‘bothy bar’ was locked.
Hotel toilets blocked and unusable, when actually open.
No information on arrival, we had to guess what we had to do/was going on in terms of facilities and hotel etc. no safety information in terms of fire etc, again very dangerous.

The property is in a very picturesque location.
The property is run down and although the bed was clean, the rest of the cabin could have been cleaner. The toilet and showering facilities were dirty and run down, so much so that showering there wasn’t an option for us.

Nothing apart from the view we actually left a day early
Pretty much everything cabin (shed) was awful
Outside light gone bare wires
Inside zero comfort beds barely stayed in one piece
Toilets not clean and falling to bits
Showers disgusting broken sinks not working
Cooking and wash up facilities dirty
Everything is falling to bits fences knackered
Food was mmmm ok at best
Nothing works
We left a day early
It’s a shame such a great Scottish name is being destroyed by these people buying up all the cheap hotels and letting them fall to bits
Disgusting

Beautiful village
Toilets and showers outside were dirty and too far from kabins especially when needing toilet in middle of the night, both toilets in hotel at reception were full of poo !!!
The 'chalet' as advertised was really a shed with beds - it was too cramped and too hot for 4 adults especially when we couldn't open the window due to the midgies! Accommodation for 4 but only 2 chairs on outside deck!
Bothy bar supposed to be open til 11pm but was closed by 10.15pm

Expensive shower and toilets were not clean very basic

The setting is incredible, and the views were absolutely outstanding!
The cabin was nice, and having bedding was a nice surprise as we had brought our own thinking we would need to supply it.
The area felt safe, friendly, and secure. As a single mum travelling with my 2 boys, I appreciate being able to let them play outdoors without having to worry constantly.
Unfortunately, due to the extreme heat, the cabin was stiflingly hot ( obviously not the fault of the hotel). It felt like being in a sauna and, in all honesty, made the night very uncomfortable. I hardly slept at all. The window opened enough to let some breeze in, but not very much. Maybe some fans to hire out would be a good idea in the summer?
The food wasn't great, it did the job, but myself and both my children left a lot of it, especially the chips (more like wedges) as they were soggy.
The toilet block also ran out of toilet roll during the evening, which wasn't ideal.
However, none of this would put me off staying again. I would just order out for food.
The views and friendly atmosphere outweigh the couple of negatives!

Amazing setting clean and great staff
A bedside table in Kabin would help, had to put glasses etc on floor

Location was great for those doing the West Highland Way. Amenities were very basic but perfectly sufficient, great for hikers. Nothing fancy but the kitchen was well stocked with useful bits for making a dinner; hobs, microwave and air fryer, fridge. The cabin bedrooms themselves were great and beds were very comfy, had radiators and hooks.
Some lights didn't work in the cabin, kettle was temperamental, toilets and showers were clean enough but basic and could have done with a couple of extra hooks/bench for belongings. Was fair for the price.

We stayed in cabin 3, got locked in and couldn’t get so had to climb out the window.
We got told by a staff member that it was known the door was broken and you had to do a movement to open it - as if we were meant to know.
He just laughed and walked off.
The food was extremely overpriced for the value.
The room itself was ok and the beds weren’t too uncomfortable but a lot of screws weren’t in them which caused the ladders to fall off etc.

Toilets need more detail (no toilet paper) was told we would have own bathroom.

Great location weather was amazing staff were great, climbed Ben Nevis that day and got to the cabins early before check in time and they checked us in early, thank you for that
Cabin was very clean, price was spot on

Cabins were cute, good location and ok cost
No comms in advance about how to access, what to do. No email to reach or person to call.
The man behind desk was not particularly welcoming and said he’d tried to contact us. So clearly just a place that’s not organised without much leadership.
Some bathrooms didn’t work or were showers that only ran on cold.

The location is stunning. You’re right on a Loch and nestled between mountains and hills. If you’re a nature lover like me this place is heaven. There are so many hikes and walks you can go on. There’s a waterfall like 10 minutes walk away. Not much in the town of Kinlochleven but its so close to the hotel. There is a Coop and it has everything you’d need and stays open till late most days. Cute pubs and takeaway place too. There’s a bus stop 5 minutes from the hotel as well so very useful! I stayed in a cabin which had very clean bedding, tea supplies, kettle, tv and an LED bug zapper which was definitely used as there are lots of midges this time of year. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar which both serve food and drink. There’s also a drying room which is very useful! Overall good experience.
Be aware that if you leave food in the fridge for more than one day it gets thrown away! This is what happened with me and they just shrugged their shoulders. I had it in a bag and everything. Maybe label yours. I think it’s because people usually only stay one night when walking through the Highland Way. There wasn’t much supplied in the shared kitchen area. No plates, chopping board or knives. There were a few forks, spoons, bowls and cups.
The cabin I stayed in leaked from under the door when it rained.
Three nights in a row the cabin next to me had people playing loud music till after midnight. I asked twice for the staff to talk to them but the music still kept playing.
Those were my only complaints.

Amazing location with water views
The food was good but unfortunately the facilities very poor. So poor in fact none of us took a shower. Facilities were dirty and an unusual set up. There was only one toilet (outside) with toilet roll. Even the toilets in reception weren’t working. No toilet roll and even a broken seat leaning up against the toilet.
The 2 staff who served us were lovely but clearly completely over worked and under staffed. We had to wait over 15 mins for the bar staff to leave his post to check us in. Then we had to wait nearly an hr for our food to arrive.
The chalet was nice. I booked two and paid the same price. Only one had a heater, TV - the only one didn’t. It was cold. They both need bedside table and lights.
Unfortunately I won’t be returning. Extremely overpriced, extremely poor facilities (needs a new shower and toilet block) and understaffed. Shame because it could have been amazing given the location.

Food and drinks lovely
Cabin appeared very clean however on the morning we left (cabin 7) there were dirty socks (not ours ) under one of the bunks .
The kettle was also full of moldy water with 2
Slugs which was disgusting
