Bamboo Village Guest House

I like that it looks like traditional japanese house rather than a modern one. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. It is a very comfortable stay.

It’s quite hilly so taking the bicycle up the property was pretty challenging.

The man who checked me was a life saver. Two days earlier I had lost my pouch with my passmo pass. ( transportation pass) he found it for me and drove me to pick it up, tremendous help.

The steep hill was challenging/ I could not have navigated it with big luggage/ or I could have but it would have been exhausting but I am 82!

Friendly, clean and with a welcoming feel.

Not a problem but to note the shower, sink and toilet are outside the room but right next to it.

We were given a room with en-suite bath, which we ReALLY appreciated. it was nice to get all the towels for our 3 day stay at once, no need for housekeeping. Renting bikes at the property was very convenient.

There wasn’t a table with reasonable chairs to eat at, the tiny table in our room could barely hold coffee and yogurt. It would have been nice to get acquainted with other travelers over breakfast, as we did at other guest houses. Shopping options and getting access to food on the island are VERY limited, we would have liked to have been warned to buy stuff BEFORE getting on the ferry, not when we arrived at the property and were far from 7-11. We were not told about the COOP where we could also shop. Restaurants are few, close early, and some don’t operate every day - and many require reservations. It wld have been helpful to have been given the QR code for local restaurants to make things easier - instead we found out about this on our own at the end of our trip. The driveway is VERY steep - as they warned.
