Bad value for money in O Loughlins

The location. The bar was nice & the girl bartender was friendly.

The cheap mattress, no mattress protector, light duvet. No extra blanket & the electric radiator hadnt been on prior to my arrival. I bought a hot water bottle to air the bed as I felt it waz damp.I couldnt turn on radiator so I slept in my clothes. 90euro was too much when one wasn't even getting a breakfast. Sorry folks but it was the worst accomm Ive ever haf.

wish i’d booked for an extra day

i wasn’t able to make breakfast unfortunately, though it did look good. Cathal obviously cares deeply for the place and was lovely to talk with. location is excellent, kitchen wasn’t serving dinner during my stay, though i wish it was! i’ve never stayed somewhere with old timey keys for the locks and it was an absolute delight to discover

that i couldn’t stay longer.

Great spot, ideal for a quiet weekend or exploring the Clare region. Lovely room, super bar downstairs and a great breakfast. Owner was a true gent, will definitely be back.

Excellent value for a self-catered location in a small town with music.

The location is in the heart of town, and yet quiet. I had a tiny single room, which was still roomy because it was as carefully laid out as a small boat, with its own toilet and shower. And if you want to quickly become a local where everyone knows your name, just pop into the bar twice! The hosts are caring, genuine, hard-working owners who are available at all hours. I had a wonderful time!

If stairs are a problem, there’s no other option here. But Cathal carried my suitcase up in a flash.

Excellent, relaxing stay, Miltown Malbay is a lovely town

Excellent location, got parked across the BB, lovely lounge bar and the owner were lovely, couldn’t do enough for you, we were supposed to be there 25/26th July unfortunately we had a death, so I contacted Anne to let her know that Monday 25th, I couldn’t believe Anne contacted me to say they would honour our stay, so we got down this week Tuesday 5th and stayed for 2 nights, they didn’t have to do that specifically when we cancelled that day, that just show you how kind and thoughtful they are🥰🥰

Small room uprstair to a cozy pub

Very friendly staff in the cozy bar with good tips for the area. The room was small but had everything necessary, and the communication with the property was smooth. Location in the main street near other cafes, bars and restaurants and only short drive away from Cliffs of Moher. Can be recommended!

Excellent location.All went downhill after that.

Although I realise there is nothing can be done about a staircase,this one is extremely steep and it has very bad lighting.Not suitable for older people at all,A few motion sensor lights would take care of this very easily.Next up come the room itself.Great location overlooking the street,Old style timber framed beds with old mattresses that you could feel the springs through,Room was very clean but that was all it had going for it,The T,V didn’t work for the duration of 2day stay.Internet didn’t work either.These things were pointed out to staff with a promise to rectify but did nothing.Had to ask staff for tea bags and milk as there was one teabag when we arrived.There is a kettle but no socket near it so you have to boil it on floor or on locker by the bed,not a major thing but for what we paid the facilities were ridiculous.No breakfast included but we were aware of that but after seeing what everything else consisted of and considering what they charge it was the very least they could include.

The location is good in the main street of Miltown, however to be honest I felt that the room itself was not worth the money. A bit of fresh color paint and some nice curtains wouldn't cost the earth but would make it more appealing. It was a little depressing, to be honest. There was a toilet roll with literally a 10th of toilet paper on it. A full toilet roll would have been appreciated, and also the shower was stuck on a very hot setting, and would not budge, it would have scalded me, but I managed to turn on the spray on the shower head and dip in and out to get a wash- again- was disappointing. Landlady was nice, and if you're looking to just put your head down for the night it would probably suffice; however, there's much better in Ennistymon for a similar price, and it's a much nicer town.

Room itself, mattress was lopsided, decor could be improved. Maybe even leave a bottle of fresh water for the empty kettle that was provided. Shower was dodgy- water was stuck on scalding hot.

Great stopover on our Wild Atlantic Way adventure

We stayed in a twin room, which was compact but had everything you needed. The beds were comfortable, the shower was good, which is all you need for a stopover really. The bar downstairs was very friendly and the restaurant a couple of doors away was really good. They do a breakfast which starts from 9.30 as they also provide for the local community.

This was a wonderful stay! The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful! The room was super comfortable and the shower in the room was class! Super powerful and spacious! the room had a kettle and coffee which I did not expect! And the television was craic! it even had Netflix if you wanted to login into your account and stream a show! This was my last stay on a long trip in Ireland and my favorite! the host was grand in answering questions via email and phone as I was nervous about parking etc...and he could not have been more helpful! Highly recommend and wish I had stayed more nights than just the one!!

Disappointing stay would have appreciated a welcome !

Locked out on arrival . No staff at all . No meet and greet . Bar closed restaurant also closed no food available . No notice of bar closure . A late text from the owner to say that the key to the bedroom was left in the room and that the bar would open in a few hours later as they were “caught up for the afternoon” . The bar did not open ! Had booked to stay for 3 nights the bar did not open till the 3 rd night . Overall it was a disappointing visit as it was advertised as a lively location and premises .. would not recommend a stay 😣

There was no contact with the owners or staff . Not what one would expect ..
