What a beautiful place to experience autumn in South Africa. The decor oozes an old world feel with all the comforts of the best B&B, with ensuites featuring tubs AND showers, toilets AND bidets, and comfy King-sized beds. The breakfast is amazing; I had the Eggs Benedict, which consisted of both sides of the large English Muffin dressed with a layer of greens, then a smoky slice of bacon and a perfectly cooked soft egg. It was then bathed in a beautiful hollandaise sauce--- RICH! In fact, too rich. I could only get through one. Last night's Posh Pig dish was a deeply seasoned pork belly with fat cap and crackling. Huge portion, and the aggressive seasoning (heavy on the smoked Paprika!) made it tough to get through in one sitting- fortunately, take away containers are allowed!
The ONLY downside isn't Rawdons fault, nor it's responsibility to fix, but must be mentioned. The 10K drive along Nottingham Road from the N3 was a NIGHTMARE! Potholes nearly equal the solid asphalt... in the rain, or after dark, it would be a challenge... in the dark during a rainstorm, it was a white-knuckled nightmare. Be prepared to slow WAY down!
