Clean, friendly, beautiful view

Breakfast was nice. The view was lovely. Overall comfortable and spacious room and accommodating staff.

The BnB isn't really in walking distance to the beach (according to the staff) so the thought of having a quick walk on the beach before my Uber arrived wasn't doable. Small thing but it would be great to have a desk in the room I was in for work purposes.

Good location overlooking sea

Shared and very dated bathroom facilities. But most importantly, its proximity to airport is NOT correct!! It’s at least 15 km, which in Durban traffic is a problem!

The house itself is in a nice location and the downstairs area has some delightful furniture to relax in. The staircase bannister and rails was beautiful. I was greeted with a big smile from the housekeeper Juliette, and Richard (the owner I presume) also gave me a warm welcome. I had read a review where it said that breakfast was a full Irish. I was initially disappointed that it was not the case but Juliette made a lovely cooked breakfast of Eggs, Bacon, Sausage and tomato together with toast which was lovely. There was also cereals, yoghurts and a kettle to make instant coffee or tea. There was also a coffee machine (capsules) Eden Manor was value for money in my case. I arrived late ands left early. It was a shame that I was one of only two guests that night. It deserves more support. It is situated in an area where hotels ask stupid amounts of money. Yes it is in need of upgrading in places to cater for the modern world, but I'd hate to see it lose its charm in the process. I read far too many reviews which merely try to slag off the place they stay. All Eden Rose needs is for people like me who appreciates that for the money you pay you aren't going to get every facility that the big chains can offer. But you will help places like this to survive and cater for decent people who are on a budget to stay. Thank you Juliette, you were lovely to me. (But you need help to run such a large house)

It was a shame that there were no spare sockets in my room to charge my phone, Ipad or power pack, but that was not the end of the world. I wasn't over enamoured by the shabby looking stool in my room, or by the very dusty TV set, but the room otherwise was clean and tidy, and my bed was very comfortable. The Aircon worked perfectly too.
