Serene, beautiful and comfortable "farm stay" with amazing local home-made cuisine available

Lisa was an exceptional host providing me and my family with a most memorable visit to Tuscany. Her willingness to help out was 2nd-to-none and she provided some great tips for places for our family to visit in the region. Oh.... please don't get me started on her amazing breakfasts and special meal offerings she has twice per week! The accomodation was comfortable, clean and peaceful. My kids certainly appreciated the swimming pool once the mist had burnt off from the valley bellow. I would, without reservation, whole-heartedly recommend Lisa's beaautiful "Podere Casanova" for your next visit to Tuscany.

Only that we didn't have longer to enjoy the area and Lisa's hospitality even more.

Wonderful, quiet and friendly place, highly recommended!

We stayed at Podere Casanova for two weeks with my wife and 2.5 year old daughter. It is a wonderful place, located in a peaceful, quiet and secluded area, and yet close to many of the attractions of Chianti and the rest of Tuscany. Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano, and even some very nice beaches just north of Livorno are within an hours' drive, which is a great advantage of this spot. If you choose to stay around Radda in Chianti, for example (as we did in the past), Siena might be a lot closer, but then a trip to Lucca, Pisa - let alone the beaches near Livorno - becomes much more challenging, especially with a small child. The Podere itself is a delightful place, the rooms are well maintained and clean, the breakfast is delicious, abundant and always a great pleasure, the pool area is wonderful, the views from the reception area, the pool and from the terrace of our room were breathtaking, the playground is small, but our daughter loved it. The highlight is the owner herself - Lisa is a wonderful person, her natural enthusiasm, warmth, kindness and hospitality are outstanding, she loves kids and our daughther absolutely adored her. :-) I hope we will come back to Podere Casanova someday!

A few things here and there might use some minor repair and maintenance, but I cannot really think of anything that we did not like about this place. :-)

Quiet and well located agriturisimo

The property is a bit old ( for example the beds at the pool and the garden of our apartment) There is no staff from the afternoon onwards There is no possibility for lunch or dinner (except for Tuesday’s and Friday’s) This is not your spot if you aim to spend lots of time in the agriturisimo with kids

Lisa was so friendly and helpful. It was a lot of things for kids to play with and greenery to run around.

The property was in a fantastic location for exploring Tuscany. Lisa was a fantastic host, breakfast everyday was exceptional. The pool, table tennis and shared areas were great to keep us busy

We would have liked a bit more storage space to unpack but we wouldn’t knock down the property or the stay because of this.

Perfect vacation in the heart of Tuscany

Lisa is the perfect host, and every day (even before arrival) she is ready to help with reccomendations nd answer on all possible questions. Also, appartment is very clean and well equiped. Additional plus is that every appartment has its own yard or terrace, so, eating a breakfast with a view on Tuscany hills is definitely breathtaking. And to add - location is great for day trips around - Siena, (1 hr), San Gimignano (40 min), Lucca (1 hr), and so on.

Perfect stay in Tuscany for families

I loved how comfortable and special Lisa made us feel. Her daily breakfast was delicious and very varied. The facilities were wonderful, the views were incredible so we tried to enjoy it every night with a glass of wine. Also, this is a perfect stay for families because they have a playground, toy room and laundry available. I am so happy with my choice to stay there.

Warm welcome at beatufiful place

It is beautiful and the owner is kind, welcoming. Good for families with little kids. They have 2 little goats and chickens. A pool and all around are olive trees.

The views from our private veranda were amazing. Breakfast was served to us each morning there. The breakfast itself was fantastic, lots of choice and very coeliac friendly. Lisa went above and beyond for myself and my daughter who are both coeliacs. The pool was beautiful, clean and so peaceful. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Beautiful and peaceful location. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful vacation.

There were everthing what you need for a wonderful vacation. Hostess Lisa was very friendly. She brought a breakfest on our terrace. View from pool for beautiful. There was peace and quiet. You can buy a wine and olive oil made by Lisa. Also she gives instructions how to get to Florence. We are very grateful.

Perfect stay

We loved the quiet location and beautiful surroundings. The apartment was well equipped and of a great size for us as a family of 4. The location is great to explore Tuscany, in particular Florence which is stunning. The kids loved the swimming pool, the playground and the wealth of toys available to borrow. The views are out of this world. Most importantly, Lisa was the most amazing host - so warm, welcoming, kind and happy. We absolutely loved her amazing breakfasts also!

Super, highly recommend!

We booked the room with a private terrace and the view from that terrace was the reason we chose this location: it is amazing!! We enjoyed eating breakfasts and grilling dinners in this beautiful terrace so much. Breakfasts were super good also, you have many options to choose every morning. Also the pool was couple of times by coincidence for our private use; nice! The owner Lisa is very nice and helpful. We highly recommend, especially the apartment with private terrace, for anybody who appreciates great Tuscan views. Also apartment had good airco in living room, and both bedrooms.

We liked everything, but want to mention that the road to the location is quite bumpy at the end, we were happy to have a proper car in use :). Also the distance to closest grocery shop is around 15-1i9 by car. Lisa has minishop with drinks and smth small though open every morning.

Perfect farm stay close to Florence

Excellent view. Clean property. The facilities were good too. Lisa as a host is fantastic. She is very passionate about the home stay and works very hard to keep it clean. The breakfast was excellent and was customised to every one’s individual needs. She is very organised.

The rooms may need a bit of upgrade. Considering it’s a farm there were lot of ants that came to the rooms. Hope this is something that can be worked upon.

Breakfast was very good with so many selections..what to have? 😊 Our main attraction was the pool which was a blessing considering the weather was stunting for us. Lisa was a delight, so accommodating and helpful with regards to surrounding areas to visit.. nothing was a problem.

Limited privacy at the patio which you share with your neighbor Lack of basic kitchen supplies (i.e., no paper towel, no ingredients except salt and pepper). For a short stay, it didn't make sense to buy supplies. Excessively poor condition of access road to the parking area and no restaurant within walking distance. No in-suit laundry machine Very thin walls. You can hear everything... 10am checkout time is early

Superb

The location, view and the host are really fantastic. Great breakfast with a lot of choices. We really enjoyed that the kids could help to make Pizza, which you can pre-order, also you can pre-order other food. A lot of stuff for (younger) kids to play with and a nice pool with a stunning view on the Tuscan countryside.

Keep in mind that the last 200/300 meters to the location are unpaved road. We really had a lot of mosquitoes even mid October, comes with countryside I think, so a spray or lotion may come in handy. Certain things/furniture are a bit outdated but that also has it's charm.

Lisa is wonderful, the place is charming and the each of the apartments are equiped with a grill and a balcony. You can choose the breakfast every day and can even choose it to be delivered in the room.

The beds were not the most comfortable and the cleaning of the room just happens once per week. You can hear a lot the apartment next to ours and the apartment was very dark.
