The hostel and the place are amazing. You are in the middel of the nature and Parati-Mirim is one of the most cozy places. Combination of beach and mountain is crazy and its one of the best places to rest and reconnect.
The volunteers and the people visiting were also amazing. I booked for 1 week, but stayed 3 weeks in total. It was the best beginning of my trip in Brazil.
The host drinks too much sometimes, it didnt influence me directly, he is not there all the time and the group-feeling of the volunteers and visitors made me feel really safe.
But this in combination with multiple stories of trying to seduce one of the visitors makes it really bad for me.
The place is still wonderfull, so i dont want it to be ruined by this. But i also feel that people should know

Amazing tree house feeling, easy to find (the van drops you off on the road), many hammocks and spots to chill, well equipped kitchen, 20 min to the beach, friendly people running the place, I had an interesting conversation with Igor.
When I was there it was unfortunately very cold (18 degrees), so being in an open house was a bit uncomfortable. Also the electricity was off since 8pm until 2pm next day, so everything switched to (for me unpleasant) white light and warm shower not possible. Thats not the hostels fault, it’s everywhere, but still was a little issue for me. The towel I had looked very dirty and I took another one. In the female dorm almost no space for stuff.

Loved the atmosphere and vibe.
The staff is really warm and chill.
Lots of nature around and a good chance to swim and hike.
This is a place where you can rest and charge your batteries or socialize with other people.
There is a bus going right down the road but i didn't use it so i don't know about the schedules.

Really cool treehouse in the jungle, something really unique and different. Very comfy hammocks and hang out spaces. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the breakfast looked delicious and the overall vibe of the property is so relaxed, perfect if you want an escape from tourists and to experience something new!
The location is a 40 min bus or shuttle van ride from Paraty and they run pretty infrequently so bear that in mind if you want to go into the centre as Ubers are very reluctant to take you to the hostel and usually try charge you extra. The bugs and mosquitoes are no joke so bring PLENTY of insect repellant. There are private rooms but as it is a treehouse, there is very little privacy so if you are a light sleeper, I advise bringing ear plugs.

the location in the forest, the animals, the sound of the birds and insects and the delicious smell of home made bread and cakes in the morning. the vibe, quiet and perfect to disconnect for a while
the location may be tricky, a good walk from the beach but the bus stop is just down on the road, ask the bus driver to drop you off at the remo hostel when coming from Paraty, there is a big sign indicating the path up to the hostel.
isolation, its a ‚tree house“, all open, don‘t come here for honeymoon ;-)

Very beautiful place, with magnifique view and immersion in nature. Interesting architecture as well.
None of the staff is employed, they are all volunteers who come to stay maybe 2 months or less and then leave. This results in a lack of compromise of their part. You feel like you’re there but they don’t really care. It is not their fault. It’s more the fault of the owners who have no hired and properly paid staff.
Also, there is music playing (sometimes very depressing electronic music) from 8h to 22h. This can sometimes be unbearable. Nature around there is beautiful and I would have loved to have silent moments in which we can hear the birds and the forest. Everyone is nice, but I did sense a lack of professionalism and contradictions to their philosophy of “good-vibes” and “carpe diem”.

It's a pretty cool wooden structure up in the forest/jungle with some nice nature sound at night. Breakfast was excellent especially when they make their own bread and cake. Nice and friendly staff with animals everywhere. You really feel deep in nature there.
Even though it looks like a place to resource, reset, disconnect, there's music playing til late and you can hear everything. Because it's kinda all open, if you are looking for a quiet place, then I won't recommend. Because it's open, your personal belongings, bed sheets and towels stays quite humid too. I didn't get my room on the first night because of an overbooking but I did get it on the 2nd day.

Again, the house, the forest and the animals. The owner is helpful, and most volunteers are very very sweet! We didn't try the breakfast, but it was clearly well prepared and diverse!!!! Recommend the place if you're looking for a beautiful place with a view of the forest, but near the city and accessible by car + with amenities such as good wifi, hot showers and so on
Other than a sexist, impolite volunteer that somehow got to hang around the entire day and do nothing, the service or reservation was completely unorganized. Had to make 2 reservations on booking for a single stay, they said my room of choice wouldn't be available for half the period of our trip, but when we arrived the hostel was empty, and a couple got a room on the spot for a much lesser price than listed on Booking's website. Ps.: I precisely asked them before arrival if it was possible to book directly with them for a cheaper price and they didn't give me that option. Also, I tried to call them several times, and sent messages asking to change my reservation so we left a day earlier and only got a reply after booking had charged me for the full stay/ a couple of days before our arrival at remo hostel. And, when we did leave a day earlier without any refunds, and an employee (a woman that apparently helped with the financial part) implied they were being "too kind by not overcharging us" with consumption items such as towels. She didn't even say a professional "bye".
In short, they felt very commercially oriented, either unorganized by choice or already hoping to profit out of it.

The nature, the house's structure and ambience are all perfect. The view is always breathtaking, the animals are super sweet and friendly and there's actually places to park! The volunteer who made breakfast, Laise, and Alisson were also very nice and warm! The owner was also very helpful with tips regarding beaches and tracks to do.
One of the volunteers - that didn't seem to have any tasks at all - was quite impolite. He wasn't welcoming, had a snobbish atitude and killed the vibe. Also, he has a low-key sexist attitude with me, only talking/ answering questions or comments *made by me* to the guys in my group. On our greatest exchange, he lecture me on how to be less disrespectful to my boyfriend, inferring that I should never talk in Portuguese around him because its not his first language (note: but my bf speaks Portuguese, and had already have a conversation in pt with said volunteer) .Totally ruined an otherwise cool experience by hanging around like a vulture everywhere at the hostel, not making any effort to be nice and instead acting arrogant.

The place is just magical and Sheila cooks the best brazilian soup. Phillipe the host is amazing. And the jungle sounds are thrilling at night.
I did not feel very welcomed. The hosts and volunteers where friendly but not very heartly or incorporating. I felt like disturbing their peace with my presence. In the hostal was no sense of community at all.

It is a charming house in a beautiful location with a delicious breakfast and extremely kind staff. The aesthetic and the vibe are great. Nestled in the jungle, surrounded by nature, it is truly peaceful.
The rooms are 100% open and permeable, with just bamboo and cloth divisions, so you hear and smell everything regardless of how discreet, like cell phone alarms and cigarette smoke, which is not so nice.

Amazing place! A beautiful wooden house in the jungle. Lots of lovely animals around and wonderful personnel. Unlike any other hostel you will ever find. Since its a wooden house, it can be a bit noisy but guests and hosts are very considerate in this so it wasn't a problem for me.

We loved our stay at this hostel. It is so peaceful with lots of areas to chill out and relax. It is set in amazing scenery, we sat and watched monkeys in the trees, bats flying at night, and saw our first ever fireflies! It’s in a great location with beaches around to explore. Was great to switch off with no phone signal for a couple of days!
