Marie Claire is a lovely and comfortable place, but management needs to address some issues

The location of the apartment was very central to the trains to Cinque Terre, to restaurants, to shops, and to the beach. The apartment is larger than we expected and very spacious. We appreciated the laundry facility and ability to hang our laundry to dry on the balcony. There is a lovely small food shop nearby where we bought necessities. We were thankful to find parking outside our apartment for 5 euros a day with the window validation we were given.

Finding the Office to pick up the keys was not difficult, however finding parking to go in was not easy. My husband tried to park but stayed with the vehicle while I went in. He was asked by a policewoman to leave, so we were separated and kept in touch by phone. When we arrived at the property, we found that no one had turned on the refrigerator, the freezer was out of order, and one of the beds was not made up for us. There was no toilet paper provided. There was no indication of how to access WiFi, and when I emailed about WiFi and the freezer, I was told WiFi costs 4 euros a day (we did not remember reading anything about that before our stay) and that they would send out someone for the freezer. The freezer was not fixed.

Lovely location, parking and wifi tricky!

The apartment is basic but clean and fairly well equipped. the location is excellent- just a few minutes walk from the beach and shops and restaurants. It's in a large, friendly, apartment block and from the balcony you can see the sea and people wandering over the adjacent footbridge,

There is no contact at all with the owner- the apartment is managed by a nearby lettings agency. They were very helpful, but there was no welcoming note/instructions/tips from the owners. There is no wifi! This was an issue for us as travelling with 2 teenagers. We were able to rent a modem from the lettings agency (4 euros a day) but it only worked for a few hours (thankfully they didn't charge us for it). The owners would do well to fix this as I would not recommend this apartment to those travelling with teens. There's no parking- but this is a common issue in Italy. We were lucky enough to find a parking space 5 minutes away which cost us 5 euros a day. Everything (including the train station) is in walking distance so we didn't use the car for the whole week.
