Studio Spiegelhof

Location was great - easy walk or tram into the historic centre. Comfortable unit - good couch and bed. Bathroom - shower was excellent and separate toilet was great. We enjoyed cooking and eating at the dining table.

Superb studio apartment. An easy walk - 15 or 20 minutes - to the historic centre. There is a also tram from the railway station that takes you within a 5 -10 minute walk of the apartment. It was a very quiet neighbourhood and there is a small Lidl supermarket just a short walk away. The studio has been thoughtfully equipped and decorated. It has a nice little kitchen area with a microwave and small fridge, which was perfect for preparing breakfast and simple meals, plus enough nice crockery and glasses (even champagne flutes!) to enjoy food and drinks properly rather than the hotch-potch you often find in rentals. The little terrace on the mezzanine floor was delightful and the perfect place to enjoy evening drinks. The bed and the pillows were blissfully comfortable, which again, we find is very rare in rental properties. We had great communication from the hosts prior to our arrival. We would definitely stay again if in Ghent.

It's a little warm, being at the top of the building, but there is a good fan to help cool the place down. It's also up several steep flights of stairs, which was no problem for us, as we only had hand luggage, but is something to be mindful of if you have mobility problems or large luggage.

Only thing I would say is it was warm and clammy. Bit like scotland when its warm but thats not the hosts fault. Just clammy at nights. Fan would have been amazing

The property was very clean and presented well. A few specialty touches included chocolates and coffee pods.

It is a shared accommodation with the owner - which is not clear in the advertisement and was not communicated to us prior to arriving, dispute messaging with the owner. Additionally, the advertised washing machine ammenities were not readily available, with request for payment per load of laundry washed. This together, was very disappointing, as we booked this specifically as it was advertised as a) private studio accommodation, and b) that it had washing machine facilities.
