Although clean and presented well, the property was not as advertised (shared accomodation and washing machine fees)

The property was very clean and presented well. A few specialty touches included chocolates and coffee pods.

It is a shared accommodation with the owner - which is not clear in the advertisement and was not communicated to us prior to arriving, dispute messaging with the owner. Additionally, the advertised washing machine ammenities were not readily available, with request for payment per load of laundry washed. This together, was very disappointing, as we booked this specifically as it was advertised as a) private studio accommodation, and b) that it had washing machine facilities.

Mini break in Ghent

Great location about a 20 min walk to the centre of Ghent but meant we could park outside the low emission zone (we couldn't register our car on the website from the UK, but were able to do so once in Ghent, but it was a bit late by then). The apartment was comfy with basic kitchen equipment which was all we needed for breakfast and then we were out all day.

We couldn't listen to CDs as the speaker made a funny noise and I got bitten a lot by mosquitoes as the screen in the bedroom was broken. We were able to speak to Tamara about the above and she intends to upgrade the speaker system and will get the screen mended now she knows about it.

Amazing atmospheric abode!

Absolutely amazing apartment on the top floor of a local family house. The owners are super kind and friendly, and the whole house has such a warm and cozy vibe about it. The studio itself is wonderfully decorated and fully equipped for a short or longterm stay. They have an excellent vinyl collection and library in which you can enjoy for hours in your room. It’s also located conveniently, not too far from a tram station and the Centre. Highly recommended!

A nice 3rd floor studio apartment, Lots of artwork and a library of art books. Pleasant bathroom plenty of room for two people. About 25 minute walk to city centre, 10 minutes from tram stops. Helpful hosts Super restaurant PONTON at the Kyak/Water sport cntre15 minutes walk away (need to book)

Closest (underground parking at £5 per day is 10 minute walk away . Many local restaurants are closed on Monday and Tuesday, Three flights of stairs a bit of a drag for those like us in our eighties. The host has chosen CHROMECAST via HDMI dongle so guests can use "links from APPS to view TV in their own language. Unfortunately the UK in its wisdom by leaving the EU means such links are prevented, Since the TV is not programmed for normal TV we could not watch ant TV at all.

A good number of steep stairs which may be difficult for less mobile guests. Apartment is a 15 min walk to centre, 7 min walk to good priced parking. No restaurants close by, but plenty in the city and The Kanteen on the watersport front is very good

Home from home

This is my second stay in Studio Spiegelhof and it worked out perfectly. The space is very homely and comfortable, in a quiet, residential part of Ghent but within walking distance of the city centre and the main sights. There's a large supermarket close by and it's a short walk to the tram, which is helpful for getting to the rail station (though that's also walkable). The kitchen facilities were sufficient to prepare breakfast and a simply evening meal. I appreciated the bottle of wine and supply of coffee pods. Since I was staying more than a week, the host also left some spare towels, which was a nice touch. All in all, I had a great week and hope to return in the future!

cost studio with stylish flair

Brilliant location, quiet residential area that is still very accessible to central Ghent. Lovely studio, very stylishly furnished, the record player was a great addition! very nice terrace to sit out on. The aroma of cooking from downstairs was too hard to resist, the Paella was perfect!

it’s a top floor studio which means it can get quite hot, we had particularly hot weather so it was to be expected. the fan in the room was very useful!

Clean, comfortable apartment with a wonderful host

Tami is a warm and welcoming host who met us on arrival. The apartment is a perfect base for a couple to explore Ghent. It was well equipped, comfortable and very clean. Lovely modern bathroom.

Anyone with mobility issues might struggle with the stairs (not a problem for us at all though) and it is a 10/15 min walk to the Old Town so worth bearing in mind for those who prefer to be more central.

Nice little flat

The place is clean and cosy. It's located in a residential area, very quiet and safe. BTW I like the owner's collection of books and CDs.

The heating was on and off in the night. So we felt quite chilly at times and I couldn't sleep very well for the first night. The hot water supply was also not very stable. My bf had a cold shower after me because it was running out of hot water. It might be a temporary issue but still not pleasant in a cold weather.

Wonderful, homely apartment with great transport links.

I had a truly wonderful experience at Studio Spiegelhof. The arrangements for entry/key collection and directions were very clear. I met the host, Tamara, on the last day and she was very friendly. The studio itself is spacious, well designed, tasteful and well equipped. I loved that there was a sound system, with CDs and LPs to play. It felt very homely. Transport links were excellent, including a tram to the station, plus there was a large supermarket a few minutes walk away. I will definitely book again next time I'm in Ghent!

Everything Ive had best sleep in my life. Away from the city centre located in the the middle of the residential area. Some people probably does not like this but I liked it

Apartment with a soul

The little apartment is warm and cozy thanks to all the details studied by Tamara to make you feel at home: very nice furnishings, NEspresso for the morning, boiler and foamer for the milk, microwave, nice and comfortable mattress, cool soaps, even umbrellas in case of rain! Tamara leaves you a map of the city and precious suggestions about where to go to eat or visit. You can feel it is made with love!

There is no stove, which is sort of a pity because the area is sort of isolated, and restaurants in Ghent are pretty expensive. It is a roof apartment, which means 2 floors of stairs (not comfortable for people who have problems or big luggage. For us it was ok!). The balcony is not the same level as the apartment which means you have to dress up to go there. The area is not very well connected and the public transportation in Ghent is not amazing.

Two nights in Gand

The Studio is comfy and well equipped. The city centre is reachable by foot in 20 minutes. The check in and check out have been really easy even without meeting our host in person, and we were able to leave our luggage during our last day in Gand.

The bathroom is small, and it would have been nice to have a cooking area (not just the microwave).

Beautiful studio at the top of the house in a cute and quiet street. The room was spacious and cosy. Tamara was very kind and accomodating. We could leave our luggage in the house prior to check in and after check out. The house is ca. a 10 min walk away from the city centre and a short walk away from a tram stop to the train station. Be aware, that the studio is at the top of the house and you have to carry your luggage up the narrow steps. As it is a residential building it doesn't have an elevator.

The bathroom is tiny so you only really fit in there one person at a time but that was not really a problem.

A slightly better equipped kitchen would be much welcome. It was almost impossible to cook even a simple meal, and this would be pretty easy to solve (i.e. a simple electrical stove and a pan). But everything else was lovely!

Friendly and clean accommodation

Tamara was a welcoming and thoughtful host and the studio had everything that I needed. Loads of useful items in the cupboards for use or reference. Great shower room. Use of terrace (although watch out for mosquitoes in season). In a quiet part of the city but only 5 minute walk to nearest tram stop or 10 minute walk into city centre via edge of a park and then through the pretty streets near St Elizabeth Church.

A cozy, spotless and self contained apartment an easy fifteen minutes walk from the historic centre of Ghent. Our very pleasant host, Tamara who lives onsite was always available to give restaurant suggestions etc and to help with a couple of minor issues we had with printing boarding passes etc. We would thoroughly recommend a stay in her tasteful and well furnished apartment.

The studio was very comfortable and well equipped. Very friendly owners :) studio is full of books and cd's/vinyls so if the weather's not perfect, you won't be bored. Good quality cosmetics. We also enjoyed the little terrace.
