I recently saw someone wearing a t-shirt that said "I would rather be in the mountains". No kidding I thought. The mountains are where the stars are brighter, the air is cleaner and the quiet is even quieter. Does that tempt you to make "The Great Escape"? The listing is accurate, the property was clean, and we enjoyed our Thanksgiving stay. There were plenty of bedrooms and two large living rooms with comfortable couches. However, there’s a large chunk missing from the front steps that felt unsafe, especially when covered in snow, and the basement living room Wi-Fi was intermittent, which interfered with watching movies and sports. The Wi-Fi in the upstairs living area is fine. There are also a few simple handyman type things that need to be done and the management has been notified about those.

A very comfortable home with a great layout and plenty of space to accommodate our 10 family members. Aside from several maintenance issues (which I discussed with realty co.) this home is a great find. As usual the Best of Canaan folks were great!

Very spacious house in a beautiful area but it could use some updating and a deep cleaning. Appliance feel tacky as do the cabinet handles. Many of the windows are missing the cranks to open them, screens are dirty and have holes. The sliding door off the kitchen will not lock. The front steps are in bad condition and dangerous. There is no railing on the basement steps.
The quality of the paper towels and toilet paper could be upgraded and more could be provided.
Also the main floor beds could be upgraded to kings or queens.
As I said the house is spacious and in a beautiful setting. It met our needs but could be a lot nicer with a little TLC!
