"This is a cute, nostalgic and rustic inn near the coast in Enoshima and has all the charm of less urban Japanese lifestyle. The price, location and tatami room size was cost effective, generous even..."

The location was really convenient, just a short walk to the beach and a short walk to Kashigoe station. It’s really easy to walk all the way to Enoshima, too. A lot of nice restaurants around, too. The staff were nice and helpful older ladies, but i have no idea about if they know any English, since I talked to them in Japanese. The ryokan is a little bit old, but the rooms are overall clean and tidy. The futon I was sleeping on was comfortable, too. The shared bath was surprisingly comfortable and pleasant. Very much a „you get what you pay for” type of situation. Located in a quiet neighbourhood, so had no trouble sleeping at night.
The layout was a little bit confusing, there are 3 buildings in total, all not attached to each other. Some facilities in the room were old or broken, the tv in my room was a little shoddy for example. The walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbours walking around, but that’s standard for Japanese buildings. The toilets were outside of the room, but that’s standard for old ryokans, too. Also, I think I was all alone in the building on the last night? A little bit scary…

I had yet to stay in a traditional room during my stay in Japan so this was a nice change of pace. The bathing room was interesting as well.
I would only say that morning bathing would be nice, the reservation board only has the evening.

Very warm and considerate staff even though they didn’t speak English. Traditional breakfast was included in a restaurant across the street which also had an old world feel to it.
