Villa Spalletti Trivelli - Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Well located to city center Rome. Spa was also a plus.

Excellent location with easy walking access to all attractions, plus a very comfortable rooftop spa and a historic lobby—overall, it's great.

There's no trash can in the bathroom or room... Well, I'm a bit uncomfortable with that.

Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations and I am not certain that I could find the exact words to convey how beyond satisfied we were. The location was perfect. We were within walking distance to the most historic sites in Rome. Villa Spalletti Trivelli is within short walking distance to the Coliseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain just to name a few. From their location on top of the hill you are literally walking in the footsteps of history. From our home base at Villa Spalletti we spent time in Vatican City, but from this location you could literally walk a short distance and see the oldest Jesuit University that educated 16 Popes and 28 Canonized Saints or simply walk down the street to the church that has 22-25 preserved hearts from Popes dating back to 1585. It is also close to many fantastic restaurants, shops and cafes as well, with several recommended by the staff. The breakfast available each morning is outstanding and I would challenge you to find a better cup of cappuccino than they serve. Beyond the perfect location, the Villa itself is stunning. Each of the rooms in the common areas are beautiful. Any of the locations from the library to the other sitting rooms are a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a complimentary drink from the well stocked bar. When not sitting inside, we were able to sit in the courtyard and listen to the water trickling from the fountain, or at the rooftop deck. The guest rooms were also outstanding. Everything from the decorations, to the large windows that allowed you to open completely to enjoy the fresh air and the views. All aspects from the walk in closets, to firmness of the bed, nothing was overlooked. Aside from all of what was mentioned, this was enhanced even more by the professional staff. From the moment you arrive you will feel like the only guest staying at Villa Spalletti. This was from the front desk, to the servers, to those who prepared our rooms.

The hotel bedroom and bathroom were lovely, spacious and very well maintained. The property has a lovely garden and roof terrace. All the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed the spa and a fantastic massage with Vanya.

The reception rooms smell fusty like an unused stately home, rather than a 5 star hotel. The dining room is a little tired. While the waiting staff were lovely. Service and the quality of food is not of a 5 star hotel. I would also have liked the ability to make myself a hot drink in my room.
