Would definitely come back when visiting the area.

The location is the centre of a quiet but central village, handy to many ski areas. The wellness area is a standout, well above what one would expect for the cost of the room. Breakfast had a great variety of hot and cold options, with a handy and nice restaurant on site. Great local knowledge from Leon on how and where for the slopes.

The only negative was the additional beds in the quad rooms, that these would be better facilitated as regular beds rather than fold out couches.

The breakfast was great, with a big variety of choices. The restaurant is cosy and the food exceptional (compliments to the Chef) The SPA zone is free of charge, offering various options

A lovely hotel to stop and rest

About a 25-minute drive from Zell am See, a beautiful town with a lake, we stopped for a rest at this friendly, cozy, and clean small hotel. We were amazed by the wellness centre and the swimming pool. Breakfast was standard but everything seemed fresh. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from a small lake where you can swim. A lovely hotel to stop and rest

Lovely accomodation in a such beautiful mountain area

It us a family bussiness run with love and good taste. We loved the services, the restaurant, facilities. We liked the pool and lounge area, water was a bit cold for our taste but this is a nationality matter wasn’t a big thing, we loved the time there

The entire place is cozy and nice. We liked the spacious balcony!

We were not given the room that we booked so would not choose this hotel again in the future

The location worked well for our plans, breakfast was amazing. The pool looked nice but we did not use it.

We did not get the room we booked (despite booking several months in advance and communicating with the hotel few weeks/days before our arrival) and that was the main issue. We booked a large apartment with kitchen and instead were given standard double room (much smaller, without kitchen, the decor was bit outdated). This made our stay uncomfortable and complicated as obviously we brought food and groceries for cooking and wanted it this way for a reason. The hotel manager gave us a symbolic discount and we agreed that they at least put the fresh meat that we brought into a freezer so that it would not go bad. But still, once something like this happens we no longer have trust in them and would not book again. We travel quite a lot and this has never happened to us before.

Very pleasant stay

We were really satisfied here at Scharler's, the staff was very nice, the breakfast was plentiful, the room with the terrace was spacious and clean. We also tried the restaurant several times and the food was excellent, especially the Viennese schnitzel with potato salad and burgers. We were very happy to use the wellness after skiing. The town is very calm and nice.

Sometimes people were noisy in the wellness and didn't respect sauna rules, but that's people...and there was probably broken light (it flashed a lot) in pool area, but it is really just a detail to me, but can seems a bit spooky. :) Overall, the place itself is really nice and pleasant.

Nice little hotel, very good located for various day-trips. Hotel Pool and rest aree are great. Friendly staff. We had a room with kitchen and it was nicely equipped, so we cooked the diners by ourself - all the small thing we needed still (like salt or even a sieve) - we got from hotels restaurant. :)

Breakfast was a bit too simple but still, not bad. One night we were eating at the restaurant, to food was ok, but not too good. Having a kitchen in the room was worth so much for us!

When reception and staff gets up to speed this could be a nice hotel. But not before that.

New personel at the reception, helpful and smiling but did not have a clue about anything in the city or at the hotel. No possibility for upgrading to half board even though it was an opportunity on booking.coms list.

Really bad kitchen, food at best average, timing of servings were ridiculous - and it was NOT a busy night.

More than worth the price! Comfy room and very nice wellness area. Hested lockers skiing equipment and just a short trip to Kitz Ski slopes. The employees were reallly friendly and helpful.

A bit in the middle of nowhere, the hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays, but assuming you came by car it's not really a problem.

Perfect staff. The rooms were super nice and the breakfast really good. Nude sauna was a nice touch also :)

The pool could have been hotter for our kids, but for jumping out of the sauna directly in the pool, it was great.

Nice short stay in front of Grossglockner gletscher, wishing to get back next time...

We liked everything, except of the weather. After Adriatic beaches in Slovenia with a 28-31oC temperature outside, we've got a 9oC in the Uttendorf. Fortunately, amazing SPA center was a reasonable compensation for cold and rainy weather conditions:))) Breakfast was perfect, nothing special, but the table was prepared for our two families in time, plenty food choices. The restaurant was also excellent, and diner menu was really awesome.

They do not deserve even the 3 stars. Never back! A big regret.

Actually we didn't like anything about this hotel. The only thing that was unexpectedly nice is the proximity to the swimming lake - 5 min walking. The beach costs € 6, but the lake is warmer that the most of the lakes in this region, very clean and quiet.

Everything. The location of the hotel - on the busy crossroad of a very non-touristic village, with all vehicles, tractors, motors, cars of the locals making a lot of noise. Also there is an Tesla e-charging station right on the entrance of the hotel, and the Tesla make an enormous noise during charging! The restaurant - they do not even try to make it cozy. Everything gives you a feeling that they expect you to eat, pay and go. The menu is nothing. The interior is not nice. But the most irritating is that every Friday and Saturday they give a party to the villagers, who come to get drunk. The loud pop music is being played till 2-3 am, and the profit on drinks is more important to the owner than the rest of the hotel guests. The breakfast is open till 9 am, despite the fact that nobody could sleep. We come every year to Austria and have stayed in many hotels - everywhere is the breakfast till 10 am. These guys are just lazy and do not care about your convenience of coziness at all. Really the worst hotel we had in years. The rooms are ridiculous. They are badly decorated and the furniture is bad even for a 3 stars hotel. It is absolutely not suitable for a 4 star hotel. Please see the enclosed photo's, that we took in the hotel room. The swimming pool is too small, it is 5 meters long and covered with ugly plastic. You stay inside and this is a claustrophobic feeling. The garden has some sunbeds, but is not cozy and nobody takes care of it. It was promised, so you will get it, but they do not try to make the swimming pool area nice. Neither try they do make other area's of the hotel nice.

Unfriendly and not helpful

Totally unhelpful given the current situation in Austria. (Everything closing down due to Corona outbreak) not helpful at all and very unfriendly!! We were not able to come due to the cancellation of our trip and they did nothing to reimburse us or help us out. I really expected at least any form of hospitality or friendliness. Extremely surprised given the circumstances. Would not recommend at all! There are way nicer places with friendly people in Austria to stay!
