Cortile Hotel - Adults Only

The staff was especially informative and congenial and spoke excellent English. There are 39 rooms in the hotel with 2 elevators. The pool area with the adjacent terrace was inviting and relaxing. The breakfast was delicious with many options including salad fixings and fresh fruit. They made special decaf cappuccinos for me (you have to request this from staff as the coffee machine does not have a decaf option.) We asked for the room to be cleaned with fragrance free products and they complied. The bathroom had a big shower. We asked for extra hangers and got them quickly. We broke a glass bottle and they came right away to vacuum and clean up the shards. We stayed during a heat wave and the room was readable cool and comfortable. Loved the soft beds and pillow choices. We arrived with jet lag and were able to sleep very comfortably. The opera house is about 4 blocks away via a pedestrian street. At first we were confused about public transit options, but discovered that the buses, trams and metros are free for 65+. So we were very happy about that. On their recommendation we walked a little over a mile through a pedestrian shopping area to Dock 7 for a lovely breezy mightier cruise on the Danube.

One minor issue was late at night during the heat wave the neighborhood lost power for a few hours.

Staff were helpful and friendly from the minute we walked into the hotel till we left. They happily stored our luggage when we arrived early and our room was not ready yet. This enabled us to go explore the city without having to carry all our stuff. The breakfast was superb and there was something for everyone. Absolutely would recommend the hotel to anyone of our friends and would stay again should we return to Budapest.

We liked everything about our stay. We will happily stay again. The location also meant most things were within walking distance.

Breakfast was excellent - lots of options, available Mon-Fri 0700-1000, Sat-Sun: 0800-1100 - lots of hot & cold options from dried fruit & nuts, toast, chia seed yoghurt, hot food inc eggs sausage bacon., fresh fruit, juices, toast - more than enough

Towels are on the small size, double beds are two beds pushed together (the bed linen keeps them together easily) & they use 2 single duvets on a double bed (this actually works really well but was surprising) One really annoying thing is that other hotel guests will leave their towels & belongings on a lounger or chair in rooftop bar & leave the area. The management could consider asking guests to stop doing that when space is at such a premium
