A very comfortable stay and excellent value for money

The hosts were very accommodating. My son was travelling from Denmark to the UK by train and had been delayed. The hosts were really understanding and gave great entry instructions. My son said the apartment was very comfortable and clean. He had a choice of having pastries delivered or collecting them from the local bakery, he chose to collect them from the bakery as he had an early start. He said the pastries (croissants and pain au chocolates) were really nice. This apartment is close to the station and great location to explore the very picturesque town of Tournai. Also - excellent value for money!

Good Stay Overall — Comfortable Apartment in a Convenient Location

We enjoyed our stay! The host was great with communication and the location worked for us. The apartment was clean, and the breakfast option was a nice bonus. The shower was big with good water pressure (though the drain was clogged & slow), and the kitchen had everything you’d need if you like to cook. A/C available if needed for warmer days.

A few things to note: there was quite a bit of street and interior building noise, especially from doors slamming — it usually quieted down around midnight. If you’re a city dweller, it might not bother you, but lighter sleepers should bring earplugs. The narrow concrete stairs could be tough with heavy luggage, and the shower drain could use a quick clean between guests. The WiFi was also a bit glitchy and slow, so it might not be ideal if you need to work during your stay. Overall, it’s a comfortable spot in a good location with a helpful host — just a few small things to keep in mind!

Perfectly located and well appointed apartment with parking close to everything

So handy to food and centre of town with bar, carrefours supermarket and wonderful pastry shop only a few metres away and cheap parking right at the foot of the apartment. Scheldt River only a few metres away and we get a glorious view of the notre dame right outside our front door on Rue Royale. Apartment was well furnished and came with breakfast vouchers to get morning pastries or have them delivered which is a lovely touch (that said, I preferred to walk so did not opt for the delivery service). Hosts communicated very clearly, including having an information booklet so check in and out was a breeze. Would highly recommend this Gite.

Excellent modern apartment in a very interesting city

The location was close to the centre of the town, but the other side of the canal with a rising road bridge. Very entertaining to look at the barges going past. Apartment was modern and extremely clean, hot shower, comfortable bed, good lighting and large windows. The kitchen was well provided with equipment plus coffee/juice/milk/butter etc. Free Breakfast vouchers for an excellent bakery a few yards away, plus there is a local Carrefour. The road was quiet and local bars/restaurants were cheaper this side of the canal. We were able to park outside the apt, paying by the machine (from 9.00 -17.00 first 30 mins FOC - but get a ticket, then €3/3 hrs, no charge over lunch, pay again in the afternoon). Make sure to note the expiry time as there is a €25 fine which has to be paid by IBAN if UK, we paid the lovely owner in cash and it was paid for us. It was a short walk to the centre of the old town, and the cathedral could been seen from the front door.

We absolutely loved this stop. It’s not often I’d use the term perfect! But this place had everything we needed, the space was well laid out, very comfortable, bed was excellent as was the shower! Breakfast was ample and delicious! The location is also very convenient

Fantastic well equipped property with everything you need. Great location near the city centre with parking outside. We received vouchers for the wonderful bakery a few steps away and enjoyed a lovely breakfast and coffee from there.

Good apartment, but spoilt by the noise from other apartments.

The apartment was comfortable and well equipped, and the owners were helpful. Breakfast was in the form of a voucher which could be exchanged for pastries at the local bakery.

There was a lot of door slamming from other apartments in the block well into the evening and first thing in the morning. The concrete stairs up to the apartment with people frequently running up and down also added to the noise level.

Very centrally located, modern and all facilities that we required. Host was exceptional and was able to facilitate us after a mistake that we made with the booking. in a town where no one speaks English, host made a real effort to communicate with us - many thanks again. great breakfast from local bakery.

If we go back to Tournai, e.g. when the cathedral is fully repaired, we’d come back here.

Information was provided by text on how to access the keys. In French and in English! So, all very clear and easy instructions to follow. Kitchen was well equipped and stocked with basic commodities: coffee filters, coffee, tea, butter, jams, milk sugar, … but also, pepper, salt, oil, vinegar. Regular check-ins to see if there was something we needed. Central location in Tournai, nothing in the city is far away.

There were some roadworks going on right in front of the apartment. Our host contacted us upfront to see if we still wanted to come or look for another time period. The hallway can be a bit noisy, but when you have discrete people in the building, it’s not inconvenient.

Leuke locatie voor een weekendje Doornik

Qua ligging een leuke locatie, paar minuten lopen van de kathedraal vandaan, bijna aan de Schelde. Het appartement is basic maar ruim. Wel gehorig en bij aankomst moesten we wel even zoeken naar een parkeerplaats. Uiteindelijk bij het plein voor het station uitgekomen. Broodjes van de bakker waren lekker, supermarkt om de hoek is ook handig.

We vonden de badkamer echt smerig. Ik voeg wat foto's toe. Ik heb zelf het putje en afdekplaatje schoongemaakt. Was te vies. Laatste foto is dus na mijn schoonmaak. Dit moet beter, kan echt niet qua hygiëne.

Super petit déjeuner. Viennoiseries excellentes à récupérer à la boulangerie à 2 pas du logement.

Le fait de devoir se partager la machine à laver et le sèche linge... Le sèche linge était constamment en train de tourner donc je n'ai pas pu m'en servir, dommage... J'ai donc fait sécher nos vêtements comme j'ai pu...

Es un apartamento amplio y minimalista, con todo lo necesario para estar a gusto. las camas son muy cómodas y el piso esta muy bien insonorizado para poder descansar. Muy cerca de los puntos de interés de la ciudad y con una zona de aparcamiento regulado que tampoco es muy cara. El desayuno que elegimos, fue a través de una vales para una panadería cercana. La cual es muy conocida por su calidad.

Super, alles was man braucht, für nur eine Nacht fast zu viel Komfort .

gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung mit perfekter Abstellmöglichkeit fürs Fahrrad, wenn man wie wir eine Radtour macht. Das Frühstück wird am nächsten Morgen vor die Tür gestellt .
