We chose this hotel because it was halfway between Reykjavik and Jökulsárlón. It provided a base camp for exploring the South coast. It is also far away from light pollution so we hoped it would allow us to see the Northern Lights. (Unfortunately, the snow and rain prevented that.)
The hotel was wonderful. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the room were modern. The breakfast was also great (waffles!). But what set it apart were the kind people who worked there, who tended to our every need, and even let us use the hotel dryers for our wet clothes after a day of exploring waterfalls and beaches (in a driving blizzard!).
I would definitely stay there again...

This place offers really delicious food! Our mouths watered even days after moving on to another place. The hotel is also situated on an open field ideal for northern lights viewing, and is close by some of the major attractions.

Bed and breakfast type of hotel. Need to be early for breakfast. Food items are not replenished so if you are late, nothing much left for you to eat. Hotel room is small and water pressure isn’t great. That said, ok for a night stay over . Simple, no frills hotel.
