La Petite Affolante, charming residence in Samois Sur Seine

We stayed for almost 2 months at JC's Gite at Samois-sur-Seine. It's always a bit daunting to commit to a long stay like this, but with such strong reviews we thought it would be perfect for us to spend time in a nice location, close to bouldering and the Fontainebleau community. It certainly lived up to our expectations and more. JC is very friendly and accommodating. You have the Seine a short walk away and the entire property is beautiful and well looked after, as is the Gite. The bakery in town is great, and the Pizza restaurant a walk down the hill by the Seine - also great. Short trip in the car into Font and close to some great, family friendly climbing areas. The Gite is very separate to the main residence on the property, and you always feel you have privacy. I worked remotely and held video calls with contacts in North America, Europe and Australia, and never once had an issue with the connection. We had everything we needed for a long stay in the Gite and if you were looking to do an extended climbing trip in Fontainebleau, I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

Lovely little cottage which has everything needed whilst on holiday. The hosts were welcoming and checked we had everything needed, and even left us a pot of honey from their own beehive. Samois-sur-Seine is a pretty village and the main square and access to the river are walkable from the property. The cottage is at one end of the hosts' large garden and it was lovely to sit outside and enjoy the view and the peacefulness of the place. There is lots to do in the area if you like forest and river walks and visiting historic locations. We would love to go back there again.
