We were upgraded to a studio apartment in this beautifully converted old school house. Compact but everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Everything was really clean and the bed and pillows made for a great night's sleep! Lovely little touches like milk, pancakes and coffee machine.

Could have done with a few more coffee pods and the toilet-roll holder should be removed from bathroom wall.

Great little place away.

It's a really nice property. Was well provisioned facilities. Even came with a free breakfast, which was a surprise but very welcome. Bed was comfy, as was the space. We ended up in two different rooms as the heating stopped working in our first room, and once we told the host, they very quickly moved us to one of the suites instead.

The bathroom in the first room had a bit of a damp problem and the kettle needed a good clean. Otherwise all was good for the price and location

A comfy quiet large open plan room. Room 2 looks over to the church.

The pancakes were lovely, 2 each, jam and butter provided. Fresh milk in fridge, teabags and teapot for making tea. I wouldn't call this a breakfast as such, more a pre breakfast. Perhaps some meusili or granola too would be welcome.

Amazing!!

Loved both the studios provided. One for our teens and other for us and our youngest. Elaine prepared the bigger bedroom for us and it all worked out amazing. Everything about this property was amazing. Clean. Warm! Cosy. Everything we needed was there. Small details of milk and tea and pancakes as well. Booking to come back in the new year. Elaine stayed in touch the whole time as well. Couldn't believe we got such a lovely place to stay in for the price. The location suited us and what we needed it for.

Would not stay there again

Shower and bathroom first class. The bed was quite large and very comfortable. Easy parking close to the property.

Did not like going down the steep stairs to the toilet in the middle of the night. No table to sit around for meals. Poor at hand cooking facilities. The sofa was very uncomfortable and no head rest.

Fantastic room in a beautiful location. Will stay again!

The location was perfect. It was very close to the town center and had gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. The facility was warm, welcoming, and very comfortable. The games, books, and pancakes/coffee were the cherry on top.

It was a bit difficult to figure out how to turn on the heated floors in the bathroom, but that was truly incredibly minor. The rest of the room was very comfortable, welcoming, and easy to understand.

The studio was finished to an exceptional standard. Very modern and clean. The hosts were friendly and extremely helpful, they gave us a lift a few times into town when we couldn't get a taxi. The views were stunning en route to the town centre.

Very comfortable studio with extremely helpful, friendly team

Very comfortable, spacious studio. Clearly an awful lot of thought has gone into designing these studios. Nice, peaceful location on the edge of town, with an easy walk in. Very friendly, helpful hosts; in fact the whole team at Schoolhouse were excellent, and couldn’t have been more helpful.

Cooking facilities were fine for a short stay, but were a little limited for a longer stay such as ours. Internet speed was poor and we had to use mobile data more often than not.

THIS VISIT WAS FOR A BIRTHDAY. IT ALSO WAS A NOSTALGIC REVISIT OF CHILDHOOD MEMORIES AS THIS BUILDING WAS MY PRIMARY SCHOOL OVER 50 YEARS AGO. VERY SLICK REFURB OF THE OLDER PART OF THE SCHOOL. ABOUT A 20 MIN WALK / 3 MIN DRIVE FROM PORTAFERRY TOWN. LOTS GOING ON AT WEEKEND BUT MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS CAN BE VERY QUITE WITH MOST SIT IN RESTAURANTS CLOSED. VERY CLEAN MODERN LINES IN EACH APARTMENT. LIVING AREA KITCHEN MODERN AND ACCESSIBLE. VERY WELL REFURBISHED BATHROOM. ABOUT 15 STAIRS TO MEZZANINE BEDROOM WHICH WE HADNT PREPARED FOR BUT MANAGED FOR OUR 2 NIGHT STAY. VERY PEACEFUL ON THE EDGE OF THE TOWN.

In a wonderful location, my apartment in a quirky old schools house

Though not expecting it, I was delighted to find some delicious pancakes and fresh milk in the room….. perfect for breakfast! I also requested early room access to be able to change and freshen up following a long journey to attend a funeral. Thank you so much Elaine, your help and courtesy was very much appreciated 🙏

We had such a wonderful stay! The place was a perfect little getaway, modern, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. Everything felt fresh and welcoming, making it so easy to relax. Pat our host, was incredibly accommodating and hospitable, going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home. We can't wait to come back for another visit. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy and stylish escape! Also the morning pancakes were fab!
