Resort Hotel El Cortijo & Spa

It was a lovely resort in a calm and peaceful location in the mountains. The beds were comfortable, and the food was good too. The kids really enjoyed the pools. The staff were very friendly and spoke a good level of English, so communication was easy. Overall, we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

There was nothing we disliked about our stay. We were very happy with the resort and enjoyed our time there.

We stayed here as a group of 15 people — three families across four apartments — and had a fantastic time. The location is beautiful, with absolutely stunning mountain views. The whole place has a real resort feel and is a great choice for families. There are four different pools of varying depths, as well as slides for adults and teenagers and a smaller slide for younger children. Our two-year-old was even able to stand comfortably in the shallowest pool, which was perfect for little ones. Because the water is shallower, it also felt warmer than the other pools and was a lovely place to relax. The apartments were very nicely decorated, with a lot of attention to detail. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The hotel is around a 20-minute drive from Chefchaouen, so it is also well located for visiting the city. One day, we walked for around an hour from the hotel along the road towards a small village and then back again. The teenagers really enjoyed it. If you enjoy walking and have time to spare, then we would definitely recommend exploring the surrounding area and then coming back to cool off in the pool. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for families. We hope to come back again soon!

The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always at our service, which we really appreciated. The location is also good and convenient.

The room was very cold, the beds were uncomfortable, and one pillow was missing so we had to sleep without it. There was also noticeable dust in the room, which made it uncomfortable. At breakfast, although it was already included, we were charged 30 DHS per coffee, which felt unreasonable—especially since the breakfast quality itself was quite poor. Overall, while the staff and location were positives, the rest of the experience did not meet expectations.
