This is a wonderful place and a steal for the price. It's near to a bus station, bike rental and onsen. Not to mention the location is exquisitly beautiful with an amazing view of the mountains. Staff are extremely friendly and put up with my intermediate Japanese though this is a perfectly fine place if you don't speak it at all. I slept on the 3rd floor loft area where you could see the straw in the old roof. There are a bunch of old objects decorating that floor, many of which I recognized as identical to those I saw going to the actual Gasshou Museum house in Gokuyama. There is even an old samurai helmet! Truly an awe inspiring place to sleep. Once again, staff is extremely nice. They showed great concern for me after a bike crash I was in and even looked for places I could eat as a vegan. If and when I return to Japan one day I'm definitely going back here!
