Takumisou 2

Wir sind ein paar Tage durch das Kiso Tal gewandert, und haben eine Nacht hier übernachtet. Die Gastgeber*innen waren super lieb, sehr zuvorkommend. Das Zimmer war groß und mit Blick nach hinten in den Garten und auf den Wald. Ganz in der Nähe ist ein toller Onsen! Bis in die Stadt läuft man ein Stückchen, dort gibt es einige Restaurant, es lohnt sich die Öffnungszeiten zu überprüfen, Google Maps stimmte nicht immer. Aber man findet schon etwas.

It’s in a wonderful location, very beautiful, and about 30 minutes walk from Kiso Fukushima town centre. The hosts are very kind and friendly, offering to drive us to town when we needed! Having laundry was very convenient, and the beds were very comfy.

The hosts were very attentive to our needs and often suggesting experiences and secret locations. Lots of help with transport and organising our complex train tickets. So warm and welcoming. Genuinely surprised by how wonderful our stay was.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. The husband drove me to two onsens but both were closed. He also drove us to dinner and to the train station the next morning. We ate at their restaurant and the meal was excellent. The beds were comfortable and our room had nice view over their garden. it was in a very quiet neighborhood.

There is very little within walking distance, no onsen or restaurants and it took over 30 minutes to reach the accommodation by public bus. After a long day hiking the Nakasendo trail I was ready to rest. There is only one bathroom for all the guests. There were five guests in total and we had to wait to access bathroom and the one toilet. The room upstairs where we stayed was plain and tired, it could use new furniture. The room on the ground floor was Japanese style and much nicer. I am not sure where the common room was supposed to be, the kitchen or front room? It felt like we were staying at the owners' house not in a guesthouse.
